It's been a while since I posted - things have improved considerably since I started Naturethroid about 6 months ago. I've gone back to work, my brain fog has definitely lifted, mood improved and generally feeling a lot more positive. However, there are still some improvements needed- particularly around my weight gain. I don't eat a lot, eat relatively healthily and take all the necessary vitamins, kefir etc. to keep my gut healthy - but I am very slowly adding to my weight.
I want to exercise but when I do anything mildly strenuous I am shattered. Is it okay to take a little extra NDT sometimes when I know I'm going to try and exercise? I've seen some people do this, but does that mean I am storing too much T4 and it'll come back to bite me in the following week or so (i..e become overmedicated)?
How do you incorporate exercise into your life once you've started on the road to recovery? I want to cycle, but I am finding it really difficult.
By the way, without the wonderful advice I've received on this site, I would never be well and I am genuinely grateful.
Thank you, as always

I would consider testing and raising again once you've been on that dose for 6 weeks. In the blood test SeasideSusie quoted you've got loads of room for increase, and I expect you will still have room to increase if you want to.
Add long as your freeT3 is not over range, and you can't do as much activity as you want to, you might as well increase
I'm far from getting to the dose I will probably need. But onecthing I've found with exercise, particularly when starting out, is that its easier to do the same amount of exercise every day. By taking a tablet we're giving ourself the same amount of hormone, therefore the same amount of energy production ability every day. A person with a healthy thyroid could vary the amount of hormone they produced if they had an active day.
I take an extra 1/2 grain for two days after exercise. This seems to work okayish! You won't go over medicated with T4 and if you do have too much T3 you can adjust your dose down for a day or too until you feel okay. I also have to increase my dose in the winter by around 1/4 of a grain. 3.25 In the summer and 3.5 in winter. It's a right game!
