Hi, I have been reading many articles to try and find a source of T3 for my wife. Previously we managed to do this through versandapo (Germany) but it appears that this no longer an option. The fact that Versandapo required prescription gave me at least some confidence of the legitimacy of the medication as you never know what you are getting online. Can anyone recommend a trusted alternative supplier? Any help would be appreciated as she has reduced dosage and is somewhat stressed with the situation.
Thanks in advance

I was about to try versandapo but they were taken over by another company. I was given the e-mail address of the new owner fax-cc@versandapo.de but I decided to wait a while to see if they reappear.
If anyone is able to obtain Thybon Henning legitamately with a prescription could they please give details of the supplier and process. Thanks.
Hi. I tried to get Thybon Henning on a private prescription from my GP, but the pharmacy wanted to charge me £650 for 100 tablets. I can't see any way of getting T3 through a UK pharmacy without it costing the price that Concordia has set, whether I pay it or the NHS pays it.
Hi, I would be very great full if you could pm me the Gemany pharmacy too. I was just about to try versandapo. Jennings Thybon is the exact t3 that works for me.
Hi. Please can you tell me witch company you used? I have been given a private prescription today. I Was given info for versandapo.de with no luck. Thank you.
They sent me a request to transfer to the company that has taken them over. I found it difficult as it was in German but I put it through an online translator and managed to do it. You'd have thought they'd have done that to everyone that has used them wouldn't you.
Hi Summer64. I ordered first t3 the day before the transfer. Have you ordered after the transition with script then?? I think I’m transferred over but haven’t tried to see if t3 still on website.
No I haven't as for the last 3 months I've been lucky enough to get the one on the NHS and now have it for another 6 months. I have to be reviewed then so don't know if that will continue or not and if not then I will be looking to get some elsewhere but I got dizzy on the Thybon.
Also Thyroid-S is an NDT that I’ve used. It’s a combo of T3 and T4- with all the other “T’s” in it as well. I did really well on it. NDT is better than nothing if u can’t try T3.
2 out of the 4 pharmacies that I've just tried in Crete sold me T3 without a prescription (they didn't even ask for one). The other 2 said they didn't have any - I suspect that was their way of getting out of the "Not without a prescription" discussion. So it's hit and miss I'm afraid.
Yesterday I spoke to Revitalise.co.uk, following a link on this site, as I'm having bloods done and think I may put myself on for a trial period. I asked if I'd need a prescription and was told that mentioning Thyroid UK was enough. You can read about the product and see if it's similar or call them to discuss your worries. Hope this helps.
Oh, I didn't know revital sold either? Is that only if you contact them directly? They don't even seem to stock Nutri Thyroid glandular anymore. (they have another type of thyroid glandular, but I've never heard of that brand before, is that what you will be trying? (brand is allergy research?)
Levo is working, but not 100% so keen to explore other options! Thanks!
I've just looked again, and the product is called "Allergy Reasearch Thyroid Natural Grandular 100 capulets" so now I'm as confused as you! It also states "vegetarian " which I can't believe it could possibly be as it's an animal product. Forgive me if I'm wrong, I'm desperately trying to negotiate this minefield and also find it unbelievable that it can only be purchased abroad.
Thyroid glandulars are not the same as prescription NDTs.
The clue is in the name 'Glandular'. Glandulars such as the one you are referring to, cannot claim to have specific, controlled amounts of thyroid hormones in them, because if they did, they could not be sold OTC (over the counter) in the UK without prescription. UK law forbids the sale of prescription medicines within the UK, but allows individuals to purchase for personal use from outside the UK.
Always check the product ingredients to see what amount of the active thyroid hormones T3 (liothyronine) and T4 (thyroxine) is stated to be in each tablet. If there's no guaranteed amounts of T3 and T4, then it's not a stable product. i.e. each tablet can vary in the amount of thyroid hormone it contains (including none at all), so you can never know how much you are taking from one tablet to the next.
There's a table on this page of the main Thyroid UK website that lists the T4 and T3 content of most prescription NDTs. Compare this to the products you are looking at. thyroiduk.org/tuk/treatment...
Thank you. Extremely useful information. This was not explained when I spoke to Revital yesterday although I specifically asked about availability on prescription.
The mistake you made is quite a common one, so don't blame yourself. It is not in their interests (Revital and others like them), to explain this to you because they want to sell their products. To be fair, some people do find glandulars helpful, but most people really do need the proper prescription medicine.
Yes, it is indeed a minefield, but thankfully you have this forum to come to for help. Keep asking questions and reading other's posts and eventually you'll make sense of it.
I had an email from them saying someone else would be taking over and to agree to my personal details being transferred, they didn't say Thybon Henning would no longer be supplied, very annoying.
Thanks for all the replies and messages.. we hopefully have a few options to look at now. We already have the private prescription so will give it a go.
Thanks again.
Hi everyone i am new to all this T business dont understand a thing i am 6 months post thyroidectomy for cancer i take 125mcg of levothyroxine the weight gain is dragging me down i am reading so much and just confused about the whole lot is t3 another medication?????
Hi. I thought l’d solved this problem when my Endo said l could have my T3 on the NHS however my GP said they have to “prove” it was the T3 that was responsible for my improvement. So l went back to VersandApo where i’d registered previously but got 2 messages saying my messages could not be delivered. I tried again and got a reply giving the new companies email address. I contactedthem at the beginning of this week but l have not had a reply. It is possible to get a private prescription from your GP and get an independent chemist to get the T3 for you from abroad via their distributor, someone like Idis. Cost is approximately £50 for 50 20mcg tablets. However l too am looking for a supply directly from Germany to save money.
In the past I have purchased t3, <source removed by Admin> and it was effective and cheap. I have just looked at their site and cytomel is available 100 x 25mcg for usd33. I assume you can still purchase without a prescription.
I live in Ireland, private health system, and was prescribed t3 by my gp and bought it here €20 for 28x20mcg tabs, the product was an Italian one priced at €6.50 in Italy. I cannot for the life of me understand why t3 is so expensive in uk when it is relatively freely available in other states so reasonably priced.
I found cytomel <source removed by Admin> very effective and I now use ndt, thiroid s, and as suggested by another poster possibly your wife might find ndt useful.

One company manufactures it in the U.K. so they can charge what they want. I think it was five companies a few years ago. Now dwindled down to one, so £14-19 up to £330. Greed
From the 1950s until very recently there was only one T3 (liothyronine) tablet produced in the UK. Formerly known as Tertroxin and passing through several sets of hands, latterly de-branded and sold as Mercury Pharma Liothyronine.
In the past few years we have also seen Teva and Morningside sell their products in the UK as well. (Off the top of my head, not sure where they are made.)
