Short Synacthen Test

I had this test this morning. My base level cortisol level was 149 nmol/l. After the 30 minute wait my level was 457nmol/l. initially the doctor said it was low (Base level range was 169-600nmol/l) but that the response was adequate, therefore they were happy with the results.

They did send off an ACTH test which is not yet back. Does anyone know if these results are ok? Really trying to get to the bottom of low blood pressure/low heart rate/general fatigue and weakness symptoms.

thanks :-)

Your base cortisol level is quite low but you responded to the stimulation as it has doubled in number. If you are on Facebook then join the UK Addisons infor & support group & the knowledgeable people there will help you.
