I gained weight on t3, why?

I thought about it many times, why many people complain that if they add t3 to t4 (levo) they get fat. The more t3 they add, the more they get fat and i don't understand why. May depend on the manufacturer, may metabolism, I do not know.

It stimulates our appetites so we eat more!

Yes, I noticed that...

Also T3 has a short half life, so until we find a balance may be hypo for some of the day...

The half life of T3 is one day. I take it three times a day, feel fantastically well on it and am definitely not fat. It hasn’t increased my appetite either. Maybe I’m one of the lucky ones. ☺️

In my opinion, the half life is just 4,6 hours, that's what I noticed. I take 3 times a day 6,.. mcg each. May I ask you what kind of t3 you use?

Just going on what my endocrinologist told me. I take Mercury Pharma. 20mcgs three times a day.

Levo made me very ill.

Me too, but I was on Euthyrox(junk), now on Tirosin far better...and the best T3 ever tried was Thylexan by Adinovoc.

I understand that the half life of T3 is 3 to 4 hours, that’s why it’s often taken in split doses, not just once per day.

I take mine three times a day and my endocrinologist told me the half life of T3 is one day, which is considerably longer than three to four hours. We all respond differently. Maybe someone who feels hypo after 4-6 hours needs a very slight dose increase. I certainly don’t feel a dip in levels after 4-6 hours.

A higher T3 can cause us to have insolence resistance .

I found an interesting article about T4/T3 ratio (pharmaceutical-journal .com) ; When combination treatment is considered appropriate, the ETA suggests that treatment should be started in a L-T4/L-T3 dose ratio between 13:1 and 20:1 by weight, and that L-T3 should be divided in two doses (one before breakfast and the largest one at bedtime).

I don't understand the calculation, why two ratio by weight? (after and before I gaining weight ? :))) )
