I am having pain or aching in different parts of my body. One day it might be a very tender elbow, and a thumb hurts at a touch.

Hi candiemaietta
Do you have a thyroid condition? This is a Thyroid forum, just wondering if you have joined the right community.
Actually yes I am hypothyroidism, but would appreciate know which forum I should be on and how I get there.
Thank you 😊
Candie
I'm not sure which forum would be best. If you click on "My Hub" above - 3 rows of 3 dots - then click on Browse Communities, have a look through and you might find a suitable one.
If you have any questions about your hypothyroidism you are very welcome to ask, just include latest test results with their reference ranges so we can get an idea about whether you are optimally medicated.

I think you may be underdosed and would recommend a new blood test.
All blood tests for thyroid hormones have to be at the very earliest, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a 24 hour gap between last dose of levo and the test and take afterwards. This helps the TSH to be at its highest and the aim is a TSH of 1 or lower with a Free T4 and Free T3 in the upper part of the range. These are rarely tested but you can get them privately through one of our labs. There's two and they are home pin-prick tests so make sure you are well hydrated a couple of days before blood draw. Blue Horizon and Medichecks do the appropriate tests
Ideally we should have a Full Thyroid Function Test and it appears that the NHS wont do all of them.
We need TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies (if you've not had antibodies tested).
Also request Vitamin B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate. All have to be optimum.
Always get a print-out of your results with the ranges for your own records and if you want to post a question.

Thank you. Hope my Dr will be on board!
If we're optimally medicated we should have no clinical symptoms so tick off the ones you have which you aim to resolve, with GPs help, to a TSH of 1 or lower and FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of the range.
I doubt doctors know there's so many symptoms:-
