9.30 appt given for full Thyroid blood tests. Only one available, will this be ok?

Paid for a nurse to do blood draw via blue horizon/SQH.

SQH have tried over a week now to get a nurse to come before 9 but with no luck.

Is 9.30 as good as getting it done at 9 or am I pushing my luck?

If not I could always cancel the nurse & try & find another way. My GP surgery & local private hospital do not provide a private blood draw service. I've yet to try the local NHS hospital.

If someone could answer, that would be great, thank you 🙂

It depends how essential you TSH result is. It's starting to fall at that time. I've just had to accept a 9.15 appointment but as my TSH is always suppressed it's not really that important for me.

Thank you for your reply Susie 🙂

With regards TSH I'd be interested in how far it's come down since my last test.

Does taking a test for optimal TSH level impact on FT3 & FT4 levels? Is 9.30 ok to test for your Free's?

I'm sorry if they seem like silly questions. It's because I'd like to try T3 & would like to see how well (or not) I'm converting.

I've seen improvements in many hypo symptoms with vits & mins & going GF for Hashi's, but there is still lots of improvements to be made with getting rid of the debilitating painful feet & legs & other muscles & joints & of course the awful fatigue. I'm also looking into GOPO/Rosehip supplement for pain. The lush Larry Lamb swears by it apparently.

Thank you again.

What time was your last test? Did you fast overnight for it?

To compare you need the same conditions.

To get the highest possible TSH when looking for a dose increase or to avoid a reduction, then the earliest appointment of the morning is advised, along with fasting overnight, just having water only between your evening meal and blood draw.

As far as FT4 is concerned, if we take our dose of Levo before the blood draw, the result will show a false high FT4 because it will measure the dose just taken. So to get the level normally circulating in the blood we leave 24 hours between last dose of Levo and blood draw. So no problem with a 9.30am blood draw for FT4 just don't take your Levo until afterwards.

Are you having vitamins and minerals tested too?

Don't worry about asking questions, the only way to learn!

Thanks so much, you've given me lots of useful information.

My last test was May 2017, before I found the forum & taken at 11.00 & no fasting as Blue Horizon said no need!Thankfully I know better now. Numbers are good to know but I realise that watching your symptoms is important too.

I'm not on Levo & have not been on any supplements at all since an allergic reaction, as I thought (rightly or wrongly) I might just give my body a rest.

Will be really interested in antibody reduction since going GF & yes I'm getting Vits & mins tested too. Sounds like a 9.30 will be ok then, thanks so much again 😊
