Just wanted to say 'Thank you from the bottom of my heart' to loueldhen, slowdragon, Saya85, Coracle, Bendaisy, Grey Goose and others for their kinds words, empathy, understanding, advice, medical advice and suggestions. I haven't been feeling well, but when I had that email the other day saying my bloods were 'highly abnormal, ivf is stopped again, and 3 times worse than they were a year ago when it was stopped' my heart sunk and in all honesty I was finding it hard to eat, get out of bed and just crying 24/7. It's been a horrible journey, including loss over the last maybe 7 years and everytime I look fwd I get knocked back to square one.
Anyway, I had bloods done today at GP. I gave them all the suggestions as to what they should be testing for ... as they didn't know. I didn't get any info, suggestions, reasons or hear anything except 'sorry, we did the right thing suggesting you drop to 50mg as you were borderline Hyperthyroid end of Jan and your bloods would still have come back abnormal". Hoping I can post any results asap so I can get some advice from you all.
I'm trying to take things 'day by day'. There were beautiful newborn twins in the GP surgery waiting room today. My tears came flooding down and I was glad to sit with my hoodie up so others wouldn't notice.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you. Am so greatful for this site xxx

Thank you for your kind words. I'm beginning to think there are only so many times you can do ivf, or stay on this roller coaster journey. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. x
Oh dear! I can just imagine how you are feeling. It’s when someone says or does something nice when you’re feeling down that it real.y gets to you isn’t it. Hopefully you’ll get your list of results with their ranges and you will see exactly how you stand. Meanwhile I hope it’s sunny where you are and you can top up your vitamin D ☀️
And you’re welcome lol- I still remember your first thyroid post and it annoyed me so much how you had been treated and left in the dark! Good on you for standing up to them.
Although I’m confused- if they told u to go down to 50- why were you alternating 25/50? Still- I would do 50 straight away and then up to 75as soon as you get your rx.
Make sure they test tsh, free t4 AND free t3 when they review you next also.
They recommended I go straight to 75mg. Can't tell you how tempted I am to go for 100 and see if it comes down... but I won't Quite simply, I don't think my GP/ locum has a clue. Suddenly they just said "opps and no we would never take your levo away with results like this, but we can see why we didn't think you needed it as you was in range to begin with".
I've been asked to get retest in 6 weeks. However, I think when I went to the reception desk I ended up with 5 and a half as a Friday wouldn't be great.
Because the clinic were suggesting 25mg and I was referred to a physio for restless leg syndrome and he said he thought I was Hyperthyroid if anything as my reflexes were hyper and he wasn't suprised I was having the leg thing. This was only a few weeks back so I got worried my symptoms were from going 'the other way'. Anyhow, moving fwd day by day. Wondering when I'll get the blood results. Such a shame it's Friday as I guess they won't be in tomorrow, and it breaks my heart that I was due to start ivf Monday. Hope you're doing well xx
I don't know exactly what they've tested this time. I copied the lists that everyone suggested from the other post and took them in yesterday. They never show me the screen or tell me, even if I ask. Again, I asked for antibodies and was told 'they make no difference'. Never heard of magnesium oil. Wonder if they do these in tablets or whether they would impact the levo. I did ask if 'going on the pill' may have had an impact on my TSH going up, and did it have any hormones in. I was told "I'm not sure". Will look into the oil, and await the blood results. What a headache.
Oestrogen can affect tsh, and I’m sure the hormones can play around with thyroid. Microgynon is a combined pill with both oestrogen and progestin I believe.
Microgynon can also affect vitamin b12 levels. It happened to me (I found out by doing own research and joining the dots) and I felt like I was on deathbed- did ur restless legs coincide with being on pill?
Because we are recommended to take folic acid that can mask a b12 deficinecy too.
Antibodies won’t make a huge diff now as you know you’re autoimmune hypothroid but it’s a good check to see where your levels are at.
I buy the ‘better you’ brand of magnesium oil spray from Holland and Barrets or amazon. You should take all vits and minerals about 4 hours away from your thyroxine dose. But as it’s absorbed through skin it makes less difference.
Magnesium tablets are good but can give digestive issues- there’s different types you can get. You can’t really overdose on magnesium- it’s water soluble and excreted our of our bodies of excess- hence we tend to be quite low.
You can try a b12 spray also- but worth asking it to be tested before (as supplements can skew results )
I'm not sure I can put a 'date or reason on the restless leg thing'. To begin with, it was another thing I thought was in my head, and I may have been sitting cramped or cross legged on the sofa etc. All those stupid things. Have been feeling like I'm on my deathbed though. Thought that was in my head as well. I don't like going to the GP and getting told, maybe you should do 'stretches or have a warm bath' to get rid of the leg thing. Don't they think I've tried it lol. Have been trying to get vitabiotics vitamins - D, and B, and 2 brazil nuts. Maybe a trip back to Holland and Barrett is on the cards. Thanks. You know and remember soooo much x
