Is my new job making me feel ill?

I've been gluten free and feeling great up until recently when I started a new job. The job is in a traditional bakery. It's a wee shop and very busy. Aches in joints, tiredness and general malaise are back. I have had recent bloods check and TSH is 1.5,so all seems to be sitting at a good level.

Well two or three reasons possibly yes

1) your doing more physically, so perhaps now under medicated

2) stress can affect Thyroid. Any new job is stressful even if you enjoy it

3) your surrounded by gluten at work

Just testing TSH is completely inadequate

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4, TT4, FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies. Plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12.

Essential to test FT3 and FT4, plus vitamins

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting.

If on Levothyroxine, don't take in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)

Thank you for your swift reply slowDragon. I have always worked, just changed my job in February. Have noticed a change in myself since then. With regards to the blood tests I am lucky in that I have found a GP that finally listened to me and also did the research for the conversions after I went armed with the information and insight that I have gained from this forum, yay. So it seems that I will be looking for a new job again. Hey ho, such is life. I will deal with it for now. Thanks again, regards, filenada

Do you have any up to date results for your thyroid - including the FT3 reading ? Did you have an increase in your dose ? How much VitD are you taking ? Are you taking the co-factors - Magnesium and VitK2-MK7 ? How is your B12 - Folate and Ferritin ?

Am sorry you are still feeling confused - could be due to your low levels of vitamins and minerals and of course a Low T3 ... I spotted your post on the Fibro Forum and then looked up your other posts and saw you post mostly here ... so decided to reply to you here :-)
