FT3 dropping despite adding direct T3 dose; confused!

Just received Medichecks report and finding unexpected results, all levels lower not higher, hoping someone can make sense of them, posted below.

A month ago I added T3 1/2 a 25mcg tablet and reduced 100mcg Levothyroxine to 75mcg in an attempt to raise FT3, (concerned my TSH was already very low, and T4 high but felt very under medicated) I've successfully raised vit D level, and have gone gluten free only about 6 weeks so far, I have high antibodies, although some reduction of the Peroxidase. I know it's a bit OTT to test monthly but I expected T3 to be higher not getting lower at each test, and my TSH has dropped further, I know if GP saw this result my Levo would get reduced and no hope of getting any T3 on the NHS.

Any ideas why TSH has fallen so much? Since this blood draw (Monday) I have been taking a whole 25mcg of Cytomel instead of 1/2 tablet previous T3 supply and felt more energetic, instead of raising Levo back to 100mcg as initially planned, now I haven't a clue whats' going on!

Your TSH has dropped because you take T3. That's what happens.

Were both these tests done at the same time of day and fasting?

I take it you know you have Hashi's, and levels do tend to jump around when you have that. Although the difference in your two FT3s is so small as to be negligeable. But, your TSH is good at the moment, that's where you need it for Hashi's to stop your levels jumping around! Are you gluten-free?

Thanks Greygoose, yes I do now draw bloods first thing before taking my meds, and have been gluten free about 6 weeks, AB slightly lower than before so hopeful.

I can't understand why T3 is slightly lower not higher when supplementing directly? It seems it hasn't even compensated for the 25mcg reduction of T4 and my overall thyroid levels all lowered which I certainly hadn't expected, unless I got a dud batch via a website. Although Medichecks commented that I need to allow a couple of months to see the effect of medication change. I have now changed to Cytomel for a more trustworthy source. I am worried my GP wil reduce my T4 given these TSH readings, although my annual test isn't due until the Autumn. Is it OK to drop this low indefinitely?

If both blood draws weren't done at exactly the same time, then there's bound to be differences. TSH and T3 rise and then fall throughout the 24 hours. I'm pretty sure you didn't get a dud batch if you bought from a reputable supplier.

It's quite possible that your GP will want to reduce your T4 next blood test. Up to you to disagree with him. He's not there to dictate to you, he's there to advise you. And, as I said, you need your TSH suppressed when you have Hashi's, and that's perfectly alright. There's no danger.
