I have found a website called 'I want great care'. I have been hoping that someone would start something like this and it seems to be taking off. It enables you to reveiw doctors or GP surgeries and is an independant site soyou can be really honest. I have just given my dentist a review on there.
I think itmight be really helpful if we could review someof the doctors we have seen. The idea of the website is to improve health care and I think if well used could be very effective.
I should have provided a link.I will get one in a bit.
I think maybe for some of our better doctors who might prescribe i ways that leave them vunerable to establishment itmight be bestnot to mention thier appoach eg prescribes NDT but maybe put postive stuff like listened properly, understood my condition.
I think it would be good to also say how it really is with some of the more abusive doctors.
You are correct to be wary of mentioning doctors who treat the 'patients' and not the blood test result. We have had doctors pursued in the past for doing so.
We'd have to get the doctors permissions I think, before we make a statement. I don't think they'd like a negative review, even if we, the patient, felt we didn't get a good consultation.
Thyroiduk.org.uk have a list of sympathetic doctors/endocrinologists.
Shaws. I know I am a bit whaccy but I am not daft. You can and should be able to reveiw a doctors consultation in the same way as you can a meal out or a book from Amazon legally.
What has been missing is a good forum to do so.There are on the website several really negative reviews about doctors. No the doctors dont like it but neither does any company that gets a bad review. This web site has been set up by a doctor with the aim of improving patients care and It has governmental support. If used well it could make a huge difference to not just thyroid conditions but all care.
What Iam not sure of is whether a doctors has had to agree to put themselves up for review, having only spent an hour or so onthere last night. But there is a huge number on there and one or 2 I wouldnt want to see again.
A reveiw on this forum is far more powerful than any signature on a petition. It already it will have managers of GPs surgerys looking on before interviewing a Dr.
It hurts when people dont take me seriously. I am not cross with you as I know you work very very hard and will get things wrong sometimes and I am really greatful that you have replied when nobody else did. It is just very frustrating. It has happened all my life that people disregard what I say as insignificant when in spite of a an extremely traumatic start to life I have acheived a huge amount. I am a bit like Forrest gump in my own way sat on a bench talking and utterlly disbelived to the point where I darnt share some of the fabs stuff I have done.
Cest la vie.
Apologies if I sounded grumpy Shaws, its not you and I am working on something to help myself and I hope others that should be fun.
