Why is it so important to take water with meds and not a warm drink

Water with meds
Maybe to maximise absorption - maybe hot liquids could disolve the meds before it gets absorbed at the right rate
As I understand it the advice is to take t4 or t3 with a full glass of water is because the pills are very small and can get stuck before they reach the stomach, also they are very reactive so if you take them with say a cup of tea or coffee they wil chemically bind to what is in the drink making it unavailable to the body cells that need it. Some people get by without following this advice, I expect they end up needing to take a larger dose to be well.
In addition to the other comments, most tablets are intended to disintegrate and disperse when taken. Lack of water can result in the tablet not dispersing adequately.
One USA make (Levoxyl) was criticised by the FDA for exactly that. They went off and reformulated with a super-disintegration formula. Trouble was, they could swell up in the throat and get stuck! The FDA demanded that patients were advised to swallow with water to make sure they went down properly.
Thank you everyone for your advice, maybe that's why I'm have some awful problems especially with my legs. I'm going to drink water from now on and give it some time to see if there is any improvement and get back to you all
