Hey all, any pointers would be so welcome. I’ve been doing quite well lately numbers are all good. Past three days I’ve been getting headaches again for first time in over half a year, and nightmares.

Today while in a cafe I suddenly felt nauseous, hot, and dizzy and disorientated, brain fog intensified, anxiety crepped in and it was like when I first fell ill.

Any idea why this has happened? It’s not food related I’m strictly gluten dairy and soy free. My vitamin levels are the best they’ve ever been. Thyroid labs are good. Only thing I can think is hormones as I’m due on my period? Any help so welcome. Have taken an extra dose of NDT to try and help me out of this. X

First question : who said they were good?

Second question : do you have the actual numbers? Just telling us they are 'good', tells us nothing. :)

OK, so I've looked at your last results. And I wouldn't call them good at all! Your FT3 is much too low. I think you need an increase in dose.

Thankyou, puts my mind at rest because I thought I needed to increase too. Will go up today. Its frustrating as the dose up caused me results that made me over medicated which is why I went down and then got these results. I probably should of said good compared to the results I used to get! Haha

How much did you increase by?

Half a grain to a total of a grain and a half, then that was way too much so then went to a quarter of a grain (broken in half) and the results were still too much. So have been on one grain for about two months now - and this has happened

OK, so try increasing by 1/4 grain again.

Exact same thing happened to me at the weekend. The only thing I could put it down to was 'I was on my period/ had come off the pill a few days before'. Or maybe it was low sugar or combination of both? I was beginning to panic and have feelings of anxiety and a strange feeling I can't explain. Quite scary isn't it. How long did it take to get back to normal? I usually try and get some food or glucose tablets (just in case) and then try and sleep it off with paracetamol. I've been going between 25mg and 50mg of Levo... just in case. Hope you get an answer. Best wishes x

Ah thankyou for replying. Yes it’s horrible. I feel weak and everything aches. Having an Epsom salt bath with some Essential oils to try and relieve any anxiety. Tried to nap couldn’t sleep. Worst I’ve felt since diagnosis. Ugh. Will be able to eat again at half 8 so will try that. Thanks x

You might want to have your adrenals checked out, just to rule them out of the equation. I have a very interesting book called "Adrenal Fatigue - the 21st Century Stress Syndrome by James L. Wilson". He quotes "Approximately 80% of people suffering from adrenal fatigue also suffer from some form of decreased thyroid function.....making them unresponsive to thyroid therapy" - in other words adrenal fatigue is capable of down regulating the thyroid gland due to its strong exertion on the hypothalamus and pituitary.

It happened to me after a long period of family illness, my cortisol was over the top of the range and most likely explained why not one of my thyroid panel readings were in range and increasing my NDT just seemed to make matters worse.

Anyway, my situation may not relate to yours but I thought I would mention it as it "just might" be the missing link.

I had a similar experience had to up. My dose every 2-3 months, had my cortisol tested it was high. Fed the adrenals and thyroid resolved itself. Hope that helps
