Urine test to see if I have a hormone resistance at a cellular level

Hello,

Does anyone know a private company I can get a urine test done to see if I have hormone resistance at a cellular level please.

Could this be done via a postal service?

Also, are there people on here that could help me analyse those results?

Thank you.

Genova do the thyroid hormone urine test (link through the Thyroid UK website), but it is not a definitive guide to TH resistance.

It is, however, probably a more accurate guide to the amount of T4 and T3 being processed by the body - though some would dispute this.

So would it give me the same kind if results?

It will tell you how much thyroid hormone has been processed through your kidneys over 24 hours.

Zuzka1, urine tests turn up on the forum occasionally. Unfortunately there does not seem to be much knowledge about how to interpret them or whether they mean anything different from blood tests.

Do you have a good book or source that recommends them, and gives any clue about interpretation?

No! I’ve literally no idea where to look/start/read 😬

I think everyone has that problem :( I have a few old urine results hanging about that were taken by functional doctors, but they never really got interpreted :(

Right - so this is not a simple exercise then...?

No, I don't think so. I think some of the old, popular doctors used to use them, but without going into it very deeply I couldn't find any guidance. If you want to put a lot of time into research you will almost certainly dig something up, as it must be out there.

But it's never really discussed on the forum, and I've heard several of the very knowledgeable members say they don't know how to interpret them.
