Medichecks blood tests

I have done a medichecks full thyroid test (the ultravit one) and sent it off on Friday. How long does it generally take to come back? Has anyone else had this one? What sort of comments does the doctor make on the tests? TIA for any responses ☺️☺️

Hi, I checked on the website and it says for the one you have had, it’s a 2 day turnaround. So not too long for you to wait.

Not a good idea to post blood tests on a Friday, it could be hanging around over the weekend when the lab is closed, or not delivered until Monday. Medichecks say they should arrive the next day.

medichecks.com/how-it-works

"All of our test kits come with a pre-paid first class envelope to post your sample to the laboratory. It is important that the sample arrives the following day so it is always best to take your sample in the morning to meet the midday post. If you're worried that you can't rely on the post in your region, then we suggest you send it guaranteed next day delivery so that you can be assured that your sample will be arrive in good time."

If it arrived on Saturday and the lab was working, you may get your result on Monday. If the lab doesn't work on Saturday or your sample arrives on Monday then you may receive your results on Tuesday. For results with doctor's comments it might take an extra day. I always have express results without doctor's comments as I can interpret results myself.

The comments are likely to be the same as your GP would say, the Medichecks doctor will have been NHS trained. Post your results on the forum for comment by members.

You'll get your results on Tuesday. They'll send you email telling you it's ready for viewing.

Hi

I am with Seasidesusie- sorry I never post mine on a Friday.

The last lot I did were done on a Monday and ( it was blue horizon) the results were emailed weds. They even asked if I wanted any extra tests at £10 so I added an extra one in. Medichecks as I recall are the same time frames.

You definitely don’t need their gp adding comments- I doubt they will be of any use to you. Save you a day too.

Hopefully your bloods won’t be hanging around too long and can still be used.

Good luck.

Thinking about it I had the tests on Thursday morning and sent them off Thursday lunchtime. Does that mean I should get the results today?

Hi

Hopefully- depends on how many they receive on a day and whether you asked for a gps input.

Good luck
