I would be a little watchful with ALA . It can affect the thyroid meds effectiveness . I think above 200 mg is not recommended for thyroid meds depended patients . And I would recommend you take it several hours away from your dosing with thyroid meds .
Thank you for your reply jgelliss, I have been doing some reading last night on the subject and as I already take cod liver oil which has some ALA in I shall hold off until I do some more homework. Thanks again.... Loraine.

Your so very welcome . I experienced it myself when supplementing with ALA . I learned it the hard way . I started to experience hypo symptoms . That's why it's good to add one supplement at a time to your nutrient arsenals that are working well already for you . So that you can tell if any new added nutrient is having a negative affect . Sometimes it can only be the fillers . But not so with ALA and L- Carnitine .
Just been watching Robin Shirley on youtube a nutitionist who goes into explaining the dangers of ala re mercury and chelation and the consequences on health if not taken right way. If you tap in her name on y.tube it should appear.
