Frustrating weight fluctuations!

Hello to all

I just wanted to ask other people with thyroid related issues a bit of advice. I have been on Levothyroxine for a couple of years now, with other issues regarding my weight too. I had developed sleep apnoea and was struggling to move about as easy. Another health condition called complex regional pain syndrome means I use crutches and a wheel chair so my cart wheeling days are done!

OK so I have managed to lose 3 and a half stones and the sleep apnoea has resolved thank goodness. But I recently started to gain weight again out of the blue with no diet change etc so asked for a blood test to check thyroid. And yup my TSH has gone from 1.9 to 4.2 so was hoping doc would increase my meds to counteract this but nope as the magic 'normal' range according to my GP surgery goes up to 5 ...I am classed as OK!

I would just like to know if I should go back to docs again and stress that my weight will continue to increase until my meds bring me to the lower end of the range and into optimal etc. I also had my Gall bladder out some years back and read that this can also affect thyroid health etc, is this true?

Sorry v long winded... Just going to open a window and sling my weighing scales through it ergh!!

Go back. You most definitely could do with an increase in Levo. Someone much more knowledgable than me will be along with good advice soon but I personally would go back to doc. Good luck
