I’m looking to get a referral to a thyroid doctor in the north who looks holistically at patients and where appropriate is willing to prescribe outside the box. Any suggestions?

Thyroid doctors in the north of England
You're unlikely to find the holistic approach within the NHS. Depending on where you are in the north, The Yorkshire Clinic might be worth a try. I know someone who saw Dr Richard Pope there, and he was amenable to trying NDT. I don't know whether he still prescribes it though.

Thankyou. I’m in Ilkley so the Yorkshire Clinic is close.
I hope he can help you.
I used to visit Ilkley and the surrounding area often. I had my wedding meal at Rombalds restaurant.
You could try googling Functional Medicine Practitioners.
Have tried before but nothing found. Will look again
There are several near me but I will have to select one with Thyroid specialism if possible. Thanks so much for link
I see a good functional nutritionist fully accredited by the IFM in Coventry. She does Skype appointments though. Very good for gut testing and protocols to rebuild the gut, possibly less informed about Hashis than I would like although she has experience of various autoimmune conditions as her daughter suffered quite a few. I think the IFM have different levels of training and she did the most intensive type. She doesn’t prescribe T3 though, just herbs and supplements. PM me if you’d like her website address.
Maybe you have to be qualified MD to prescribe T3? I’m not sure about whether to see a nutritionist at this stage as I don’t have autoimmune disease. I’m really uninformed but learning fast. I’ll try and work out how to send pm
