Parathyroid Surgeons in the South East of England

I'm due to undergo a parathyroidectomy and would appreciate it if someone could suggest a website where I can obtain a list of specialist parathyroid surgeons who operate in SE England. I am based in SE London. Many thanks indeed. Peter

Hi Peter

I don't have a direct answer for you but I've just been diagnosed as having secondary hyperparathyroidism and was recommended this forum

hyperparathyroid.forumotion...

I hope you can find some useful info there, good luck for your surgery!

Hi Mishka4.

Many thanks for your reply. I've had a quick look at that site and initially found it very confusing (not helped by having little decorative Easter bunnies descending from the top of the screen!). However, I will persevere!!

Thanks again for taking the trouble to write and for your good wishes.

Of course I send you my very best wishes for finding a successful solution to this troublesome complaint.

Take care!!

Good luck, I had mine 3 years ago and I'm still unwell, they have no clue in this country!

Dear Joanne.

Man thanks indeed for your reply. I am so sorry that you are still feeling unwell even three years after your surgery; you must find it very demoralising to say the least.

If you feel able and willing, would you be prepared to expand a little on your post and perhaps explain a little of your story? Of course, if you'd rather not, then that's absolutely fine and completely understandable. I don't mind admitting that I'm beginning to lose confidence in this procedure, but so far have not hit upon a viable medical alternative.

I send you my very best wishes for your future and I hope that your situation does improve significantly in the months to come.

A friend had parathyroid surgery done in Norwich by a Prof Fraser and she highly recommends him

Hi Daffers123,

Thank you so much for your reply and I'm delighted that your friend had such a good experience.

I had my operation last December at King's College Hospital in SE London. The surgeon was Professor Klaus-Martin Schulte, and he and his surgical team the were simply excellent.

If anyone is in the London area, I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this extremely gifted, skilful and kind gentleman.
