Can anyone help with results please?!

Hello!

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto in July 2016 & am still trying to find my feet again.

My dr will only test for TSH & T4 so I know that I’m already not getting an accurate picture of my health from these.

But my most recent results are

TSH 2.9

T4 16.9

I’m on 75mcg Levothyroxine and have not had a

I’ve been feeling pretty low (tired, foggy brain, weight gain) for a while but as I have a small baby I’m often told that this is just being a Mum!

I was given details from helpful folks here about the optimal levels for TSH & T4 and it is my understanding that my current levels aren’t in this range.

My dr hasn’t tested for any vitamin levels, but I take a postnatal/breastfeeding vitamin supplement.

As I’m breastfeeding he advised not to make any diet changes like going gluten free while I’m feeding & to take an iron supplement if I get tired.

Should I be going back to the Dr and asking him to reassess my medicine or do I just keep on as I am and see what happens?

As you can probably tell I’m a little lost with it all!!

Thanks in advance for your help!

You need to insert the ranges for advice.

Thank you!

The ranges that they gave me are TSH 0.4-4

And T4 12-22

Does that help?

Always give the ranges as labs do differ . I think you need an increase in levo ,TSH should be 1 or below and T4 ought to be higher in the range.Contact Thyroid UK for Dr.Tofts views on this ,or you could find it on some of Seaside Susies responses which are also good on vitamins.

Being a mum is tiring but more so if you are not sufficiently medicated.

As you know the NHS does not tend to test FT3 which is the most active hormone needed by every cell. This is why so many use private testing .
