I am presently awaiting prescription of t3 thybon 20mcg to arrive. Taken longer than i thought due to mix up. I do however really want to start them asap because I'm doing AIP protocol and wanted to do the same time. A friend of mine gave me a strip of tiromel 25 mcg a while back cause she no longer needs them. My question is could I start taking the tiromel and then convert to thybon. Also I am on levothyroxine st the moment and want to just take t3 how do I go about the change.
Sorry about the long post

A functional doctor recommended it because of high rt3. Trouble is I don't see her again for a while. She did say eventually I could do both when rt3 lowers
Reducing T4 dose a little will help reduce high rT3. You don't have to switch to T3 only. Adding T3 to Levothyroxine will also help better conversion of T4 which will reduce rT3.
To answer your original question you can start using Tiromel and switch to Thybon when the Tiromel is gone. 25mcg Tiromel is equivalent to 75mcg T4. Tiromel is easily quartered into 6.25mcg doses when using a pillcutter.
Can I just ask for your advise again please. My thybon 20 arrived today. I am currently on 100 mcg levothyroxine. Because I don't see my functional dr till next Tuesday I thought I would just reduce my Levo to 50 maybe and add T3. Do you know how much I would need to add .
