Were you diagnosed?

Hypothyroid, Hyperthyroid or thyroiditis ?

Goiter? Any nodules?

I found that becoming stabilised can be a challenge and yes you feel bloody awful.

I was hyperthyroid with tachycardia symptoms and with treatment some symptoms went while others stayed. Then with being overmedicated I became severely hypothyroid and felt absolutely awful in a different way and As I’m coming closer to being Eurothyroid I am slowly feeling alot better. But still symptomatic.

I currently feel like I’m heading back towards being hyperthyroid again.

It sucks it really does. Just make sure that you resist driving when you feel too fatigued.

From what I have read on here you cannot go hypo to hyper .You may be overmedicated.

Well, she could if it was taking carbimazole for hyperthyroidism that made her hypo. Stopping it could send her hyper again. :)

Being hypothyroid sucks, the extreme fatigue impacts your life and your bed becomes your almost constant companion.

My house is neglected and will take a hell of alot of work to get into shape.

Phhhhhhhhhh Don't I know it...very frustrating I have found the same even a shower takes it out of me..My Doc said I'm subclinical and my tsh i think is 7 but usually they won't give meds until its 10 these are all new to me. i have looked into it for years but it is rather complicatedand there's so much controversy when to treat by docs and they won't do all the tests if Tsh is ok blah blah..See I have fibro/Cfs but I always thought a lot of my problems were due to Thyroid. So good to chat about it as the fatigue etc is hard to deal with 😑 Thank you ☺

With taking Beta Blockers and Carbimazole.

The anxiety reduced alot and the heart rate returned to normal range. I could sleep which was the best thing. My libido improved, I wasn’t as thirsty either and I didn’t poo as often. I actually became constipated for a short period.

My eyes started getting really puffy, they continued to be blurry when I tried to read, and the teary and grittiness continued.

My face changed especially when I became hypothyroid and when I got back to Eurothyroid my face looked like it was before I became sick

Underactive? T4 ( Levothyroxine ) takes about 10 days to take effect. However, personally after 10 days when it kicked in only then did I start developing severe symptoms, the worse being short term memory loss and rapid weight gain. After 2 years on T4 with very little improvement I managed to find a decent doctor who prescribed T3 and I feel almost normal now, but never regained my former energy levels and still struggle to lose weight.

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Levothyroxine takes 10 days to metabolise, and usually you won't feel any better until your thyroid stimulating hormone is within normal range. Some people, such as myself have an intolerance to synthetic Levothyroxine and I began to develop serious symptoms 10 days after beginning T4 medication. I sincerely hope this isn't the case in your treatment.
