This is the first time I’ve posted & im looking for some help, I recently did a thyroid check plus test, I haven’t been diagnosed with any thyroid problems but my mum & maternal a Grandfather both have. It was my Mum who said I should get my T3 checked out. All the symptoms of having thyroid issues I have & im so tired of being told by the Doctors that I’m depressed or I have CFS. I’m NOT depressed even though this whole process is becoming depressing!!!
I’ve added my text results so any help would be much appreciated
Thanks

Your results look reasonable. Am sure Mum would have told you that the test is a fasting one and to be done at the earliest possible time of day. This is when TSH is at its highest.
Your T3 is not too bad considering the T4 is low in range. ( T4 has to convert into the Active T3 ) - so this may indicate your Thyroid is pushing out some T3 as well as T4 in an effort to balance things. You do not have Hashimotos as your Anti-bodies are Low - phew !
Such a pity you did not have B12 - Folate - Ferritin - VitD tested at the same time. If any of these are low in range then you can feel very unwell and low in mood. If you decide to have them tested then the B12 needs to be over 500 - Folate and Ferritin need to be mid-range and VitD at least 100. In view of your recent health it is possible you have Low Ferritin and anesthetics containing Nitrous Oxide can deplete B12 - again something they forget to mention
Scroll down in the above link to read of the signs and symptoms of B12 Deficiency. Good information about B12 and as you can see many of the symptoms are similar to Low Thyroid.
Hope you soon feel better - and keep on asking questions - happy to help x
TSH 1.08 is low-normal, Free thyroxine is low in range but Free T3 is good at just under halfway through range. Results are euthyroid (normal).
Thyroid antibodies are negative for autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's).
You don't currently have any thyroid dysfunction.
Ask your GP to check ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate or order via Medichecks as low or deficient levels can present symptoms similar to hypothyroid symptoms.
I totally relate to this, I've literally just come from a GP telling me outright he won't contradict a colleague and that I have mental health issues. Also new to this and absolutely beside myself with what to do next, nobody believes me even though I have family history and was told in my 30's by a different practice I "would have thyroid issues" but they didn't want to do anything with it at that point and prescribed anti-depressants. I feel so desperate. I really hope you get somewhere
Hey, it’s such a struggle to get anywhere with it isn’t it? I have two young children so my tiredness is put down to them “you do have two young children you know??” Agghhhhhh!! My symptoms were there long before the kids, keep in touch & hopefully we will be able to get somewhere.
