Raising thyroid dose and anxiety

I just want to know if it is normal to have some anxiety when increasing the thyroid dose. I have added a small dose of Erfa (natural dessicated thyroid) to my 75 mcg of Synthroid. And how long does the anxiety last until the body adjusts? Thank you!

I don't know if it's the norm but I'm currently the same as you coupled with severe groin pain each time there's a dose increase. So far I find it takes around 3 weeks for things to settle down.

Try reading link about Erfa Thyroid hormone

You may be taking too much ?

Id be having blood tests to validate your levels as your adding extra hormones to a very good supply that's already in your blood , usually caused jitters & not good for your heart if your taking too much.

I always start changes gradually , in small amounts . Maybe half the pig hormone with your thyroxine or your blood tests will tell you which way to go next.

I tried it & found that hormone to be quite different as each batch was from a different pig & was never the same.

I have found that 75 mcg of synthetic compounded thyroxine T4 is quite equally moleculed, to our own hormones & much more regulated & safer to use .it has no binders alike levothyrixine .

Or stay with your usual T4 & try adding zinc, selenium, tyrosine, iodine if your low , vitaminD3 to support cinverting T4 to the active T3.

You can ask for reverse T3 blood tests too like me I was not making enoug T3 & storing as reverse T3. I've fixed it now by doing the above & I feel so much better now. It's best to stay on the lowest dose of thyroxine as possible that you feel comfortable with , unless your tests say you really need more. Taking more will stimulate if not needed.

if not already , I always felt overstimulated on the slightest amount was because I still had too much thyroxine in my system. Plus, I disliked the smell.

Perhaps it's because you are adding more t4 on top of the t4 you are already taking? Do you actually need the extra t4 that is in Erfa? If not it might help to work out the dosage if Erfa needed to replace some of your synthroid instead?

Can you please explain to me to tell if T3 is getting into cells or if T4 is converting to T3? I started taking a very small dose of Erfa because I cant take any Cytomel. I have had a really bad reaction to any dose of Cytomel/liothyronine. And my thought is to get a little T3 from the Erfa. The dose of Erfa that I started taking is 1/4th of a 30mg( 1/2 grain) pill. Which should be approximately 4mg of T4 and 1mg of T3. It's a small dose but I am super sensitive to any change in medication and have to go very slow. I'm going to list my last thyroid tests from Oct. 2017 and maybe you can tell me if these are okay.

TSH 2.43 ( .40-4.5 )

T4 Free 1.2 ( .8-1.8 )

T3 Free 2.7 ( 2.3-4.2 )

T3 Reverse 16 ( 8-25)

Iron 99 ( 45-160 )

Ferritin 22 ( 10-232 )

Desicated porcine/pig thyriod is not just T4. It is also an abundance of T3. If it's not proscribed by your doctor from a medical lab. You do not know the T4 to T3 ratio. So your getting a straight shot of T3 as well as T4. Then your liver converts the T4 into T3. That's too much T3 to deal with at once.
