Four steps up then Five steps down.

I have had some mismanagement of my Hypo treatment/dosage due to a variety of reasons over the last 3-4 years and also I moved countries. I am in India at the moment.

I have been running fever for the last around 3-4 days snacking on paracetamol tablets. So scared, I am. Everyone suggesting I need a course on antibiotics and paracetamol and I am reasonably confident next visit to the doc would bring that on, anyhow. I feel like my body is breaking up part by part.

I am on 100 mcg for the last 2+ months. My last Thyroid profile test on 6th Feb showed

TSH 4.62 [0.35 to 5.5]

Total T411.20 [5.01 to 12.45]

Total T31.3 [ 0.6 to 1.8 ]

I do not have FT4 and FT3 for this one.

Is it my thyroid gland, inflamed - definitely feels like ? Can it be causing fever - I can see a definite coonnection !! How do I get any doc to diagnose me correctly ?

The Physician would say - see an ENT, ENT says see an Endo and the Endo says you should see either a physician or an ENT. World is a small place.

Any advice would be helpful ??

Some recent background information -

Having struggled with Muscle/joint/Chest pains and foggy memory for nearly 4 years, around 9 months back I started getting some

weird tickle in my throat. The chest pains, seemingly at the surface level and sometimes deep inside, became worse. Also thee was a distinct mild pain setting in at specific

points on my lower abdomen.

The ENT specialist sent a camera through my nose in my throat and found nothing-back in Aug 2017. One Endo asked me to get Technitium thyroid test done. I got that done too.

The glands seemed to absorb higher concentrations of dye. Endo said "no problem". Meanwhile the throat discomfort never went away and for the last around 2 months, the throat

discomfort has become more persistent and worrisome.

Sat77,

You are undermedicated to have TSH 4.62 on 100mcg Levothyroxine and should request a dose increase. The thyroid can swell to attempt to produce more hormone and that may be why you are feeling discomfort in your throat.

I don't think undermedication will cause a fever. If it persists you should see your GP as you may have an infection.
