Not sure what this means but had usual blood test but the doctor has phoned me to say I have to repeat it as pathology lab could not do it as there was too much plasma to get a result. Is there anyone who can advise me what this means.

I could be wrong, but I don't think it's anything to worry about. I think it's when the sample just isn't good enough - perhaps the blood draw hasn't been done properly, or the bottle not inverted appropriately/stored correctly. Sorry, I'm really not sure but it doesn't sound like it's a problem with you so much as the sample!

It's usually when the blood sample hasn't been properly separated into serum (your blood minus the red blood cells) and the blood cells themselves as a clot which is got rid of. It's almost always the pure serum that is used for testing.Obviously in this case the blood cells weren't properly separated.

It would be a mistake in the path lab.
Thank you so much.
Maybe their electric centrifuge blew up and they cannot find the old school manual one which can only do a few test tubes at a time!
Joking aside. Annoying that you have to do it all again. Not your fault
