Is it still possible to safely buy T3 online? If so, would anyone be willing to PM me their supplier?

Many thanks.

Welcome to the forum, Xora.

Hi, thank you Clutter. sorry yes that was rather rude of me, just going round in circles and getting no where!

Ok, background. I was diagnosed hypothyroid getting on for 20 years ago. Prescribed increasing doses of levo, started at 50, now up to 100/125 alternating as I can't quite manage 125 without starting to get hyper symptoms but 100 isn't enough.

Fairly recently, at the insistence of a friend, I got my GP to check more than just TSH/t4 bloods. My ranges aren't awful. However, my symptoms are appalling and have got far worse since I've had my children (now 5 and 7). I have put on 6 stone in the last 4 years, and have had huge issues with fatigue/exhaustion, which has lead me into looking more at my thyroid meds etc. I always remember my Gran telling me she's never been the same since they took her off NDT many years ago, and it made me think more.

Bloods at the start of last year came back with very low vit d - around 20. Been on supplements since. The fatigue and utter exhaustion has improved somewhat but I still feel like i live in a fog cloud half the time and am just missing my childrens' lives so much as all I want to do is sleep.

Most recent results:

vit d: 50.6 (I know this is low and has been increased since, or rather my dosage has)

TSH 0.42

free t4 17.0

TPO 53

free 3: 4.3

I have various other random things she tested me for too previously, b12 was fine.

So, I'm looking for any possible way to help myself and just feel more human as I feel I have just reached a brick wall really. I'd be grateful for any help/advice.

Can you add the ranges on these results

Your TPO antibodies are high this is Hashimoto's, (also known by medics here in UK more commonly as autoimmune thyroid disease).

About 90% of all hypothyroidism in Uk is due to Hashimoto's

Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12.

Always get actual results and ranges. Post results when you have them, members can advise

Hashimoto's affects the gut and leads to low stomach acid and then low vitamin levels

Low vitamin levels affect Thyroid hormone working

Vitamin D needs to be at least 75-80 and just over 100nmol might be better

B12 can be low in range and causing symptoms, as can folate

Your FT3 is likely low in range, but can't say for sure without range added

Poor gut function can lead leaky gut (literally holes in gut wall) this can cause food intolerances. Most common by far is gluten

According to Izabella Wentz the Thyroid Pharmacist approx 5% with Hashimoto's are coeliac, but over 80% find gluten free diet helps significantly.

Either due to direct gluten intolerance (no test available) or due to leaky gut and gluten causing molecular mimicry (see Amy Myers link)

But don't be surprised that GP or endo never mention gut, gluten or low vitamins. Hashimoto's is very poorly understood

Changing to a strictly gluten free diet may help reduce symptoms, help gut heal and slowly lower TPO antibodies

Ideally ask GP for coeliac blood test first

Hi, yes sure

vit d: 50.6 (>75 optimal)

TSH 0.42

(0.27-4.2)

free t4 17.0

(12.0-22.0)

TPO 53

(>34 positive)

free 3: 4.3 (3.1-6.8)

yes I strongly suspected it was Hashi's due to family history but the bloods confirmed it.

I have had ferritin and b12 tested recently too although I can't lay my hands on the results right now but they were well within the normal range.

Am already gf due to both my boys having various gut issues and allergies.

Thanks for taking time to reply.

Your vitamin D is much too low

Needs to be around 100nmol

Better You vitamin D mouth spray is good as avoids poor gut function

B12 and folate, definitely get actual results and ranges

Also ferritin is very important

Yep that's what I started using when i got these results through a few months back so although it hasn't been restested yet I know it should be higher than that.

Thanks :)
