Hi Clutter,

Thank you for that ,I just realised these are other tests, endo didn't prescribe the ones I had to do and on the phone when I spoke to her she said after she claimed to have seen the results that I should continue taking same dosage T4.time for a new endo..wouldn't have realised this without you .going to do the tsh and t4 and will post again .sorry about this !you can go ahead and delete this post ,I am not sure how to.

Hi clutter,

So finally got the results ,these are the first following thyroidectomy 4 months ago

FT3: 3,7 (3.0-6.8 'normal' ranges)

TSH: 16,64 (0.27-4.2)

FT4: 13,3 (10-24)

Following these results my endo increased my T4 to 125mg from 100 mg and says that there is no reason to even try with T3 at this point.

I have already purchased T3 (25mg) I just don't know what dose to take ,I just want to feel better and don't know what to do !currently very depressed, fatigued ,no motivation can't even work quit my job.

I am supplementing with 3000 mg calcium daily as that dropped to dangerous levels and was hospitalized again a month after the thyroidectomy. Also taking multivitamin, vitamin d,probiotics, biotin, and HTP5 for serotonin.what else do you recommend ?is ltyrosine a good idea ?

Any advise would be highly appreciated and thank you for the brilliant help you are giving on this forum.

Elektra18,

You were very undermedicated on 100mcg. Have thyroid levels been retested since dose was increased to 125mcg?

For maximum absorption Levothyroxine should be taken with water 1 hour before, or 2 hours after, food and drink, 2 hours away from other medication and supplements, and 4 hours away from calcium, iron, vitamin D supplements, magnesium and oestrogen.

Thank you for your reply .yes I am following this schedule best I can, now even more so.

I am half way through the first box of 30 caps with the new dose .endo said we should check again after 2 months .Do you think earlier than that ?

Elektra18,

6-8 weeks after increasing dose is fine. I would wait and see what the new results and ranges are before adding T3.

Afraid I have no idea whether supplementing tyrosine is a good idea or not.
