Whenever I get up in the night to go to the toilet I feel awful when I get back into bed, light headed and hot flushed.
This happens also when I wake up early in the morning for work, hot flushes and feel lightheaded. Is this sugar lows, hormone or low blood pressure related? Seeing GP tomorrow but wanted advice before I see them as they will probably just brush me off!

It wont measure your blood pressure all night but you take your pressure/pulse if you're woken up during the night. I found it very helpful as my pulse was high during the night and I could make a record. Also they usually have a button that keeps an amount of some of your previous results.

Think your GP could arrange a 24 blood pressure monitor for you (if you’re lucky) I worked with someone who had that done. She was kitted out and the machine just went off at what seemed like random intervals. There’s no guarantee though that it would test at the point where you get up and feel ill.
If you kept your own machine by the bed and left your cuff on you could do it yourself. If you buy one get one that fits on your arm, my neighbour bought a wrist one and was told he needed to get a cuff type like the doctors use.
I also find having one has solved my white coat syndrome and my readings are much lower now and I take them al9ng with me when I go to the doctor.
I also learned (by taking part in a medical study) that you should sit and relax before you take a reading. Take the reading sitting upright with your feet flat on the floor, don’t talk to anyone at the same time either, wait five minutes, do it again, wait five minutes then do it again. You can then give yourself an average of all of your readings.
Much better than having it done by your GP who takes one reading while talking to you when you are already stressed or if your doctor doesn’t talk to you because you ask them not to, you know they are sitting there wanting to get on so you are still stressed.
