Has anyone experienced any side affects of Teva/Accord medications other than from levothyroxine.I have just noticed that my high blood pressure medication is from the Teva and Accord brands.I was diagnosed with high blood pressure in early 2018 as I was having heart shivers and palpitations since late 2017.That Unfortunately I have never been able to get this under control.Up and down like a yo-yo.I have lost over a stone and was back cycling walking and exercising since mid 2018.when looking back I felt this could all be due to different brands of levothyroxine.Thing is I have just noticed that this repeat prescription is both Accord and Teva brands.Feel as if my issues with levothyroxine were due to these brands and never thought of checking the blood pressure meds.I have this constant drone in my left ear and tinnitus in both.Has anyone had any side affects of these brands other than levothyroxine?

Hi, I have Teva Amlodopine 10mg for my blood pressure medication and don't have any problems with it. I have been taking it for 9 years. I was taking Accord Levothyroxine 150mcg and like other members on here, I have been having problems with palpitations and bloating, and feelings of heartburn after taking it. I was fine when it was Activas, but have been having problems since it changed it's brand name last year. I have just changed brands after being on Activas for 12 years and then Accord since last year. I have switched to Mercury Pharma and up to now have been feeling much better. I don't feel as bloated and the heartburn feeling has gone. Up to now I have also had no palpitations. I have been on it week and I also reported the Accord brand to the yellow card scheme. I wished I had switched brands last year.

This drone and tinnitus has got worse recently and now I’m starting to think if it is these brands.I had Teva 5mg ramipril last time too along with crescent pharma 2.5 Bendroflumethiazide.I was initially on 10mg Amlodipine (can’t remember the brands) and 5mg Ramipril.One doctor told me the Amlodipine was too high a dose for me and cut it back.I felt better then cut it out all togethe myself.Tell you the truth though I honestly don’t know what feeling good is now or what maybe causing what
I know the feeling. I was worried about changing brands as I have had reactions to medications before, but I am glad I did after reading other members posts about Accord. My daughter was diagnosed last year with the same as me Hashimoto's and she started out on Mercury Pharma and felt ok. Then her pharmacy kept giving her different brands and the latest one was Accord. She was feeling really unwell on it. I told her to make sure she told the Pharmacy she wanted Mercury Pharma, and since she has been on that she has been fine
I just got the Aristo and Wockhardt brands and changed from Teva/Accord levothyroxine.The drone in the left ear has got a lot louder can feel it constant now above the daily noise.Don’t think it was as bad before changing brands then again? Or my blood pressure has raised with changing brands.Will need to get the monitor out and keep a check on it

My understanding was that Accord and Activas were the same company helvella ?
I have been on Accord years without problem only once I changed brand to TEVA for a short period and that was an awful experience I’d never wish on anyone!

Do you think some makes of thyroxine can cause palpitations, and/or fibrillation? And please can someone explain if possible, the runny nose symptoms? Sometimes it is easy to dismiss strange symptoms but they could be significant. Thank you for all your knowledge. Ann

I regularly have Teva brand Azithromycin as a phrophylactic antibiotic (3 times a week) and I've not had a problem with that.
I did have some Teva brand Amlodipine blood pressure tablets once when my usual Sandoz brand wasn't available and I didn't notice a difference.
I also had an inhaler changed from my usual brand Spiriva to Braltus which is made by Teva. Same active ingredients but this change coincided with my first ever episode of tachycardia a week or two later. Discussing this with the Advanced Nurse Practioner a few months later (after several episodes) he agreed this change of brand could have been a trigger for the tachycardia so brand was changed back to original brand but I've still had a few sporadic episodes and now on betablocker but off the blood pressure tablet.
My experience wouldn't stop me accepting another medication made by Teva because I think it can be excipients that any brand might use not just down to Teva products per se.

Put in Yellow Card reports for anything about which you are even a bit suspicious.

If the MHRA only get one report, it will, almost certainly, simply be filed. If they get a hundred all pointing in the same direction, it might trigger some action. And if they get 100,000 almost identical issues reported, they have to act.

I've been prescribed Naproxen (Teva) for a trapped sciatic nerve over the last couple of months & being unable to stand up straight. I've noticed an underlying daily headache and unusual fatigue but wasn't sure if it was the Naproxen or the first Covid jab, to be honest I've been in so much pain I didn't even consider it could be the Teva tablet fiilers. Can't advise re the tinnitus as I've had that permanently for years since my diagnosis of Pernicious Anaemia. Actavis now Accord & Wockhardt were always my levo of choice as I didn't get on with mercury pharma, possibly due to the Acacia. Teva wasn't back on the market by the time i decided to self medicate t3 only but I believe that contains Acacia too so probably would have caused me problems as well.
**Edited to add that some medications can interfere with Vitamin B12 absorption which is a known cause of tinnitus. It may be worth getting your b12 & folate levels tested to rule out a deficiency.
Singoutloud I have the fatigue and constant headache.That could initially just be from being under medicated and I have been building my dose up.Kind of constant hangover feeling.I can deal with the high pitch in both ears but it’s the constant drum/drone in the left ear that’s really troubling me.I could hear it before but never as loud or as constant above everything else.Had pulsate tinnitus in my right ear over a month ago.That eased after four days off zoplicone I had been prescribe for a week to help me sleep which never worked.Cant see it being the B complex as I was off that for a week before blood tests.I take liquid B12 daily but don’t know if I need to.Blood results will reveal whether or not I need it.Thanks replying have a lovely day!
I stopped taking Teva brand Ramipril 5 mg for my hypertension because I felt that I was getting the same side effects from it as when I took Teva levothyroxine. (Gluggy, blocked ears and constipation.) Just got original brand back of Ramipril so will see if the side effects go away. Too early to tell yet.
Morning grumpyold.I found the used strip after a bit of bin raking from my last prescription and it was Teva.So I have been taking that previously.That possibly could be the problem.I was on 10mg Ramipril a year past in January and cut it back as I thought it caused the tinnitus in my right ear to spike.Don’t remember what brand though.Found out later Ramipril is ototoxic for some and that amount of a dose has affected them whilst others say it’s to low of a dose to cause any affect.Be great if you could let me know how you get on? I will just contact the doctor on Monday and tell him I want them changed.Have a good day and stay safe!
Hi Jacobite 33,That's interesting. I never knew that Ramipril is ototoxic. Now I think about it, I didn't have Eustachian tube problems before I began on hypertension meds. Hmmmm....

Every time I read or hear of Eustachian tube I think of when I was scooting around London working....Well you had me thinking there.As I said my tinnitus spiked in my right ear when upped to 10mg of Ramipril a week after they upped my dose as I came of the Amlodipine.I just stopped taking 10mg called the doc and only took 5mg.My blood pressure was reading low a lot though when relaxed.I suffer from chronic insomnia and I think that’s why it shoots up.It was either that or a reaction to the injection at the dentists to which I have never had before or after.I have had an MRI on my sinus’s around the same time as I was suffering lots (still do) of nasal pain ear pain and the feeling of being blocked.Even bought an auto-vent that just made my eyes water.Scan came back clear and nothing found.So maybe that is a possibility? Be lovely if you let me know and hope.Take care!
Hi Jacobite,I promised to let you know how I got on after stopping Teva brand Ramipril (and Teva levo.)
The blocked ears have remained the same, I'm afraid.
I think i did notice an improvement whilst I was off hypertension meds completely but I didn't dare stay off them too long, for fear of risking a stroke or heart attack.
The brand of hypertension med seems to make no difference. I am as constipated on Almus brand as I was on Teva.

If you have issues with any filler in any medication, you must check every med and supplement before taking it. Teva levo can cause issues mainly due ti the mannitol and acacia it contains, Mercury is to he avoided by those who are sensitive to its acacia filler, and others have issues with lactose and cornstarch used in other brands. Teva is one of the largest manufacturers of generic medications, so it is extremely likely that we will be supplied with one of these medications at some time. However, the fillers used are different in each one, so an intolerance of, or sensitivity to the mannitol or acacia used in Teva levo does not mean that all Teva medications will be unsuitable for you. Just like foods that do not agree with us, we must be just as circumspect with medications and supplements. It goes without saying, too, that you should always check the PIL for the actual medication side-effects, as these will have nothing to do with the manufacturer, but the active ingredients themselves.

Yes, a minefield, unfortunately. My partner is currently on his fifth type of blood-pressure medication, Ramipril, and has just had to stop this one due to unpleasant side-effects. What do you mean by that?
Smallest number of other ingredients? Smallest total quantity of other ingredients?
You need to check the manufacturer's PIL that should accompany any medication, whether prescribed or otc. If not included, or if you have lost it, just check the manufacturer's website, i.e. put in Teva levothyroxine ingredients. Doing this has become second nature now!

(Bizarrely, some companies do not have copies of their own Patient Information Leaflets but send you somewhere else. For example Advanz (Mercury Pharma) link to medicines.org.uk/emc/search... - but Teva don't put theirs on that site at all!)
I'm the opposite and actually get on with Teva codeine better than a couple of others (milpharm and crescent I have to stay away from).
I think we need to be careful to avoid making assumptions such as "all Teva products are bad/good". They are so huge, they have so many factories, so many ingredient suppliers, etc.!
I think we need to accept that their levothyroxine is excellent for some, appalling for others. But not let that turn into an assumption about their other products. 
HELSvella angel you hit the nail on the head excellent for some,appalling for others.Wasn’t assuming was just asking a curious question as there seems to be a pattern for me.My chemist seems to be issuing Teva/Accord medication for lots now.So I’m just wondering if this could also be part of my issues.It’s a trail and error jigsaw.It’s yous fine people that have us looking at things differently now and not just taking what we’re told with question.That my friend I will personally thank yous for!
