You might find this page helpful :

I think high cortisol and PS may be mentioned on a few pages on that site, but I'm afraid you'll have to search for them. The site map might be helpful :

I've never used PS myself, and have no idea about how to use it or how much to use or when to take it, sorry.

I’ve taken it but can’t say I noticed much in the way of results. I simply followed the bottle’s dosing instructions, 100 mg each time.

I used PS very successfully to bring down high cortisol. My cortisol was high midday, afternoon and evening. I took two capsules an hour before each of the high readings and cortisol has normalized. If you are under any stress take extra. Hope this helps

Hello, thanks for the reply. How many milligrams were your capsules? How long did it take for it to come down?

Apparently, taking it with fish oils can make it work more efficiently.

I have been taking 200mg Phosphatidyl Serine 15 minutes before breakfast, and another 200mg 15 minutes before lunch, which is what my nutritionist advised. I had very high cortisol on all four points, and it was much improved at my last test.

How was your sleep? Night cortisol is a problem for me. How long did you take it for to see results?

I used to have terrible insomnia, really “tired but wired”, totally unable to get to sleep. My insomnia has improved generally, but I still get bad periods when it seems to start up again for no apparent reason. I know that my cortisol has reduced a lot, as I’ve been tested recently. I started taking 5HTP a month ago to help with the insomnia, which I’ve had an issue with again recently.

I’ve been taking Phosphatidyl Serine for over a year. It’s hard to say how long it took to notice positive results, and I also can’t say that it was just the PS as it is one of several supplements I take. Although I started it to help reduce my cortisol, I still take it to keep myself on an even keel. I have a pretty strict diet too, and work hard at managing everything to keep myself on an even keel (supplements, diet, lifestyle, thyroid medication).

I see a private nutritionist and, as my health has improved immeasurably since seeing her, I trust her advice and recommendations – which is why I still take the Phosphatidyl Serine, but we have discussed lowering my dose, with a view to stopping altogether (I just worry about changing anything when my health is OK!)
