After recovering from flu just 2 weeks ago and feeling exhausted with that i had started to feel ok and slightly normal with thyroid dose but iron ferritn levels still dire but i have just recentley started to supplement after a few attempts of various ones that didnt agree, so for the last few days i have caught up with a few jobs around the house-gone upstairs quite a few times which has knackered me out at the best of times, done some errands to run, got out and about but yesterday whilst walking home from town only a 5 min walk i started to feel sooo tired and exhausted and throughout the evening the fast heartbeat and the burning in the thyroid area and feeling trembly all over-it reminded me of being hyper again-yuk!! I feel dreadful today, no sleep last night as i was breathy and trembling. Surpose it does not help going like the clappers when you only have a iron level of 10 at present- feel sorry for myself now that i have got myself in that state but could it be a hyper swing from hashis? Bloods are being done on monday as hospital lost the 19ths january ones-i would be interested to know how it effects other people when they have overdone things-hypo or hypers!!😠

I get depressed, breathless, and my muscles have the strength of rubber bands. Sometimes I will tremble too.

Yes it feels like that, makes me think that nearly 7 months on and still cant do what i used too but hey i had some bloody good days recently, but it just proves we need to listen to our bodies instead of going around like Road Runner"beepbeep"😐

Hello Rmichelle

I hope you are able to relax as much as possible today & recuperate somewhat.

I to over did it yesterday while digging up stone in the garden ( thought fresh air & activity would help me ignore painful period)

In the evening I had a parents evening. Ended up feeling completely exhausted. Painful feet & legs, felt as if my brain was inflamed, physically buzzing & nauseous. Was my body hypo but brain hyper, I don't know.

I lay flat & quietly on the sofa thinking it might help the circulation to my head & after a while my head eased up. Made doubly sure to take Magnesium before bed, find it great for sleep & muscles.

I, as I'm sure many of us hypos, get extremely frustrated with our bodies not be able to cope with even the simplest of physical demands.

I'm resting in bed this morning with a cup of tea & listening to Ken Bruce. What's more the sun is out, even better πŸ˜€

Good health to you & everyone

Thankyou for replying, snap i am also in bed watching Jeremy Kyle and a cuppa, i will be staying here until 3.40 when daughter comes in and i will just be doing the necessaries, we had sun yesterday but today snowing like crazy. Great to know im not the only one feeling miserable and sorry for myself, it is hard to judge sometimes how much we are capable of doing there is no marker for this.xx😊

You're welcome.

We do have to be kinder to ourselves & give ourself permission to do so. We run round looking after everyone else & forget ourselves.

I wish you & the other ladies who replied a relaxing weekend! I find Graham Norton always helps on Fri night 😁

Hi Michelle sorry to here your not too well today,...though be careful Jeremy Kyle could be contributing to your symptoms πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚... it’s so annoying huh just when we think we’re on the up it rears it’s ugly head!... i went to get my eyebrows waxed yesterday and didn’t even have the energy for the 5 minute walk, I drove then was back on the sofa 20 mins later!!

Are you feeling better than you did at the beginning of the year or before Xmas? I keep reminding myself of how bad I felt before Xmas and how much better I am now (obvs not back to normal) it’s a slow incline and seems like it’s taking forever but we will get there 😊... now where’s that bloody fast forward button πŸ˜‚

Rest up today xx

I had I'm certain a viral infection a month or so ago. It progressed to a bacterial infection & then a lingering sinus infection. At that point I saw a doctor who said (newer) studies show that yellow sputum is not indicative of a bacteria (verses viral) infection. That seems hard to buy. The doctor's may be trying to cut down on antibiotic demands. Anyway I've joined the club, this is the first time that I have felt exhausted to the point of absolutely having no choice but to sit down & rest. This level of fatigue has really interfered with activities of daily living (as you've experienced). I now feel I know what people are talking about here. You have gained much sympathy from these quarters.

Rmichelle in reply to Clarrisa

Hi there clarissa i understand what you are saying i was always told that an infection presents itself in yellow/green sputum but i really do think it is what gp you see and you have to fight for what you want, 10 days i was told for sinuses before a gp will treat it.

It is no fun is it feeling ill and exhausted when you have thyroid troubles aswell, but you are in good company here-so pull on your pjs and rest up with the rest of us!!😊😊 i try to fight it and not let it win but once again it has got me!!

Thanks for the helpful words. I have been resting & reading a old book by Adele Davis. I wanted to share a sentence from it: "The thyroid is, in a sense, a pacemaker for the metabolic activities of the body." So we in essence have external pacemakers in the form of thyroid replacement medications. I had not thought about things in this light before.

Love jk,lol yes i think you maybe right, cant complain really as i started to feel ok ish on new dose and also having that little bit of iron aswell but i think i have done too much over last few days and carrying on like i am the bionic woman, you k ow just popping out here and there and doing this a that but i surpose it was too much what with thyroid and iron levels and just getting over the flu-hardly ever happens but my 12 year old daughter was playing up last night and being abit cheeky and it made me cross so i shouted and made myself ten times worse, it really does have a negative effect on the thyroid, i know bad mum!! 😨 but had to sort it but next time i will whisper "please go to bed like a nice child" lol.

Yes it is just another blip along this long winding road, i think there is a song in that somewhere!😊

You know what im usually well kept, hair, makeup, clothes etc but just finding when confined to house i just get the pjs on on sweattops and leggings and have invested in some nice loungewear, do you find that aswell? Remember that comedy -the slobs with wayne and waynetta just in their velour dirty trackies.lol.

How are the eyebrows? πŸ‘€ i had mine done semi permanent as i started to thin out there 15 years ago when a beautician over plucked mine. I looked down at my feet the other day in horror and thought my god girl i need a pedi, i have witch feet, lol😊 i have a hiatul hernia and if i bend down to do my feet it pops it out and causes pain, i used to do my own toenails, so i am going to treat myself next week to a pedi.☺☺.xx

I have tried to keep to my normal routine as much as I can I think I try fool myself in the morning by jumping in the shower early get dressed do my hair and make up with thoughts of all I’ll do in the day then 4 hours later I’m still on the sofa watching This morning and it’s been a waste of effort but I still do it everyday πŸ˜‚

I have the same my eyebrows have suffered from the over plucking fashion I really want to get them micro bladed but scared to whilst I’m ill as not sure if my skin has thinned or how I will react!... has ur semi perminant kept well or do u have to keep topping up?

Oh seen to many duvet days since this started, still get washed and clean teeth and brush my hair and spritz of perfume, but if im staying in i wont do makeup and put on my normal clothes, but when im ok i do the full onsombre.

I had my brows done 15vyears ago by deborah mitchell from heaven beauty, she travels all over the world now doing celebs, i have them topped up every 4 years, i also had topliner done 5 years ago but that has faded abit now but i do not think i would get that done again as it is just quick to do it yourself.

Ooh im definitley going for pedi, i like black or dark colours on my toes, my kizzie would do them if she wasnt forever got her finger and earphone stuck to her phone.😊

Lisa254 in reply to Rmichelle

Yes I luv dark colours for the winter they’re so nice 😊 how are you feeling now? Hope a restful day has worked!

Awww ha it’s like their 3rd hand phone in one make up brush in the other, I had contouring lessons from an 8yr old the other day! 😳

Well I joined u on the duvet day in the end I went to drive to my mums at lunch (10mins away) I got there and felt like I had run 5 marathons me and their sofa made friends πŸ˜‚ I’m guessing this is more a hypo symptom x

Rmichelle profile image
Rmichelle in reply to Lisa254

Feeling better than i did but just hoping fir some sleep would be nice instead of feeling like im on speed😨

Yep hypo sympton for sure-are you signed off from work now? I applied for esa other day as now ssp ended. Fingers crossed eh, lady on phone said there is no reason why i should not get it.

What, contouring lessons from a 8 year old!!πŸ˜† ha they know more than us.xx😊

All my sympathies......

When I over do it then the only option is couple of rest lazy days to recoup. I once heard that Dr Peatfield who is hypothyroid himself when he knew he was going to have a stressful/ busy day popped a bit more thyroid medication....!! No idea if its true. Guess it makes sense but Ive never had the courage to do it!

So pj day it is then.....time for watching catch up or of your feeling you can focus enough reading a book. πŸ˜•πŸ™ƒπŸ˜‰πŸ˜

So many people have had this horrible virus in some shape or form. My Christmas was ruined as me and my husband decided to quarantine ourselves from the rest of the family and sit it out at home! Once things had calmed down in the New Year I was quite shocked at how wiped out I was.....exhausted just doing some light dumbbell work for warmups and I just gave up and went home and hid under a blanket on the sofa. Takes time to get some semblence of energy going....on top of the blasted Hashi ! Our body uses so many resources (or what there is) to fight a virus.

Rest easy peeps and take care. :)

Bloody hashis is a nightmare-i am worn out and exhausted i feel like i have run a marathon, could not entertain a dumbell or weight i would be out of breath just thinking about it.lol😊

That made me laugh. 😊

There is something blocking your ability to convert the iron

from food and the supplements. This needs urgent help.

Will look up the website to give you ideas what is going on.

Think you should go to the minor injury unit on Monday as there is always someone there to refer you for help to the right source. If you admit yourself to a hospital, you are likely to be turned away again, but if you go through the minor injuries unit you will get the attention you need. Please don't wait any longer

feeling brave and in control when there is something wrong after 8 months of treatment for celiac disease. Gx rest and just relax - if it is connected with the time of the month - there might be other endocrine problems as well linked to thyroid and celiac disease.

Rmichelle profile image
Rmichelle in reply to

Gp said no absorption problem as i have not taken iron supplements for long enough yet-recent iron results stated that if patients iron results dont rise-refer to Gi within 6 weeks. When i had bloods done it would have not risen as i had only just started it. Gp did say that i need to be on iron first forva good 2 monrhs to see if iron rises and if not maybe a problem due to celiac, i had overdone it plus meds for thyroid are not right and im sure hashi has flared up. Xxx

Having a lovely time - family well and well behaved. Usually squabbles but they are growing up. Must not speak too soon! It's been very cold and icy wind but no snow here. Is there snow with you? Speak to you soon. Such a lot going on with kids and family. Keep well.G

Hello there in scotland!! No snow here G.it was a lovely day today dry and sunny, ive been thinking of spring-i know too soon yet but have noticed lighter at 7am and at night.

Now i hope you have been working out and still trying to strive for miss michelles 6 pack. Ha😊😊.xx

in reply to Rmichelle

My work out for my six pack is on hold until I can play my work out disc and get on my abs and body toniing machine. Have been overwhelmed with sympathy for allerrgy to wheat etc but my daughter thinking she was being kind bought me the wrong sort of oatcakes - with rice flour and skimmed milk - all different makes!

We'll be back by the week end - checking forecast - it's such a long way with mountain routes with snow which suddenly appears -

Glad your six pack is there to help me think of your size 12 which you have maintained - it gives me hope I might go down a size by easter! Have funG

Great 2 hear from you g, shame about the oakcakes and we feel terrible when we cannot have them when someone does it for you.

I have managed to maintain size 12 even though somedays food barely touches the sides as it goes that quick-piggypants hubby calls me.ha

Been to docs this afternoon to sirt my health out-blood pressure monitor for 1week and are having a 24hour ecg test but gp seems to think symptons are connected to iron levels and thyroid meds-taking charge now g got a elimination list of things to have done.lolπŸ˜†πŸ˜† doc today got earbashing. Had bloods done this morning.xxx
