Morning all,
Should my legs still be so dry on 100 mcg of Levothyroxine?
Apologies for the photo at this time in the morning 😲

Looking at 2 or 3 of your previous posts too, you sound under medicated
Just testing TSH often does not show if we are correctly treated
For full evaluation you ideally need TSH, FT4, FT3, TT4, TPO and TG antibodies, plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested
See if you can get full thyroid and vitamin testing from GP. Unlikely to get FT3
Private tests are available

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.
All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results

Getting all vitamins optimal is essential
Magnesium supplements can help improve skin. Better You do magnesium butter. Good for dry skin
If you have high thyroid antibodies then look at common food intolerances of gluten and/or dairy
Many thanks SlowDragon,
Just had these tests back last week from Medichecks:
TSH 0.035 ( 0.2-4.2)
FT4 21.5 ( 12-22)
FT3 5.03 ( 3.1-6.8)
All antibodies below minimum range.
( sorry don’t have my diary with me right now with exact results)
GP will definitely not give me any more medication. In fact, I’m avoiding going back to her as I know she will reduce Levothyroxine once she sees my TSH!
Still very symptomatic with fatigue, dry skin, lack of energy, weight gain, low body temperature ( just taken it today 35.6) to name a few .....
Going for vitamin tests including folate and ferritin next week so will post all when I get them .
Was thinking , diagnosed about 18 months ago now, after next lot of results come back, dropping my Levothyroxine by 25 mcg and adding a very small amount of T3, maybe this will help a little with my symptoms?...
Has anyone successfully split a T3 tablet into 1/8 ths ? to start with....
That leg could tell you more than any blood test , but , no use trying to educate a doctor with it .
Snap, my legs are identical. Doesn’t matter how much cream I put on them or which shower gel I use. I was blaming my awful NHS support socks, but perhaps it’s my thyroid
Yes, no amount of cream makes any difference. Understand it’s thyroid related and possibly a sign of being under medicated. However, my GP won’t up my dose, so don’t know where to go from here. ....
