I am new, I am looking to restart my T3 (Liothyronine) despite my new endo having a problem with it and my previous one prescribing it and was very happy with my levels. I was diagnosed hypothyroid in 2013 and have been feeling more brainfogged, moody, sad, constipated, cold, clotty periods, tired. Is it safe to just reintroduce to 10mcg T3 (Liothyronine) since that was what I felt best on? I currently take 175mcg Levothyroxine at present. Thanks in advance.
December 2017 - 175mcg Levothyroxine
TSH 1.20 (0.2 - 4.2)
FT4 19.3 (12 - 22)
FT3 4.0 (3.1 - 6.8)

Thank you Clutter I have decided I have had enough of my current endo saying he has a problem with the T3, that I will be thyrotoxic on it. He only supports the use of Levothyroxine. Looking to get re-referred to endo who previously prescribed me it.
I really find it very difficult to understand why doctors who 'follow their profession' aren't more knowledgeable about the role of T4 and T3 and how the thyroid gland functions in our bodies. If a person is diagnosed as hypothyroid, why don't they also offer an alternative and prescribe NDT (natural dessicated thyroid hormones) which contans all of the hormones a healthy gland would have produced. Just because Associations' state something, doesn't mean it is truthful.
