My sodium levels are just in range, only for me craving it and piling it on every meal I would have hyponatremia, can be fatal, I don't understand how I can fix this other than eat excess salt. I've been like this since I get hypothyroid 14 years ago, I have also very sore achy tired muscles I think is related, extra fatty tissue on calves relating to the same time frame. How can I fix any of this, 😟

Low sodium
Have you been investigated for secondary hypothyroidism due to a pituitary problem? Hyponatremia can be the result of disorders of the pituitary gland?
No never doc and endo fob me off all the time my cousin has cysts on pituitary and has hypothyroid and my grandad had cysts on his pituitary too
I think you need further investigation, but I am not sure how you persuade your gp or preferably your endo to take this forward. Hopefully someone else will respond with helpful advice.
What does your endo say about your borderline sodium? Is it worth asking him for a second opinion? Nothing like calling their professional opinion into question! Good luck
I've never really noticed it being this low before, over the years I have mentioned the amount of salt and nobody bats an eye lid, I just got these results the other day
Serum sodium 137nmol/L (133-146)
Please go back to your gp and tell them about salt and sodium range again. This sounds too important to leave. Could it be low cortisol caising this? Do a bit more research and good luck!
I can always get good advice from Shaws and greygoose, any thoughts? 😀
