In the last couple of months I seem to have picked up a symptom of mild dizziness (not spinning just muzzy) when I go into a shop or when I’m in a car.
I don’t get this everyday or all the time but I may have it for a couple of days on and off then nothing for a couple of weeks and then it comes back.
It seems like other cars movement triggers it or when I go into a shop looking for something, it’s like my brain can’t keep up with my eye movement ha At first even walking along the road would trigger it. It sometimes makes me feel nauseas too.
Is this a side effect of carbimazole? has anyone else experienced this symptom? and how long did it last?

No, I didn’t have anything like that when I was tak8ng carbimazole and I was taking 40mcg a day, every day for eleven months.. As Clutter says, I’d speak to your GP, could be an infection / inner ear problem.
I can relate to that but it was before I started treatment for graves and my thyroid was very overactive. Once I started treatment and my thyroid started behaving, I felt much better. Definitely mention it to a doctor.
I have been on treatment for about 8 months now and it started 2 months ago weirdly but thank u I feel better knowing that someone else has experienced it!
Hi lisa, lol bet you are sick of hearing from me today.ha. i have that sometimes and i know its strange but i get it when walking in the dark and it is like you say that your brain cannot keep up with eye movements, it sounds ridiculous but my legs sort of get all out of synch-mad!!. X
Hi ha no never sick of chatting it’s so good to have someone to talk to that has had similar experiences 😊... it’s so weird as I thought it was one of the symptoms I was over but it’s been creeping back these last 3 days or so! It scares me driving so I don’t drive out of town incase it happens! I’m beginning to wonder if it’s actually part of physical anxiety x
Very well could be a sympton of physical anxiety but you could always get checked over by gp, i do have the same sort of thing but dont feel sick with it.
You mentioned in one of your posts you are on a phase return to work, i am due to go back on feb 1st but dreading it has im still poorly and nowhere sorted with meds etc and plus hashis, i am probably thinking of doing just 3 days a week for around 2 hours for first couple of weeks as i get all breathless and exhausted on bad days. After that i am going 3 days a week.
Is your private endo going to do your new bloods? I am due next week with new bloods and have a 2nd scan at end of month.
Its scary when you get all these new symptons and i used this site continuosly when 1st diagnosed as i was so scared but i have sorted accepted this horrid disease now and sort of got on with it. Waiting for light at the end of the tunnel💡
Yes I have told my gp about the dizziness he doesn’t seem to worried about it.. it’s just really annoying especially when out shopping as I rush and want to get home!
Aww it is so hard going back to work I’m doing 2 days a week up to 3/4 hrs a day for the rest of month in view to going back full time 1st Feb it’s ok at the mo as I go in when I feel good but I can tell when it’s close to 12 o’clock as I’m yawning my head off!!...I also notice my cognitive response is not where it was so I’m still worried if I can actually do my job! If u can on ur first day just go round chatting to ur colleagues and ‘ ‘pottering’ so ur getting back into that environment and settling anxiety hopefully ur manager will be supportive.
Yes the private endo will give me the paperwork for the blood test (I think I’ll let u know)
I think the scariness of this illness made me ill as my cortisol levels were elevated too I feel better now after a lot of self healing meditation and research and chatting on here.... there is a light at the end of the tunnel, we will get there x
