So I'm awaiting my referal to and endo and hopefully the start of my journey of getting myself right after 8 years of being made to feel like a crazy person. It's my understanding now that I'm not m the medication and not even having the right blood work done when my thyroid function is tested. In the meanwhile for those who know how horrendous day to day life can be... Any recommendations for anything to help fight the fatigue and constant ill feeling? Anything at all??
Thank you

Can you have the FULL testing done through Thyroid UK - as linked to you by SlowDragon below - did you read it ? No guarantee an Endo will have all the answers - it would be far better to have all the tests that have been suggested to you with Medichecks or Blue Horizon. You can then ask here on the Forum for opinions and support. I have been on this forum for over 6 years and it seems that Endos are held back by Guidelines and do not seem to know anymore that members here - sadly.
the TSH on its own tells you very little - it is a Pituitary hormone and that is why you need the FT4 and FT3 along with thyroid anti-bodies for the full story.
Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.
All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results
Wow! Thank you! Very informative! Since my last post u had my blood tests done and only a few were done out of the list I requested and when I asked I was told my levels were fine so no further action was needed 😔😔
In the 8 years i have only ever had my tsh levels done. I pushed and pushed and still not having the right checks done in my blood. Also hell to get my results printed off... my doctors don't seem to want to do it. I know it's underlying issues that need to be sorted but I'm after something to carry me through until my appointment comes through
I may make an appointment with one of my older gps who have been around for many years. Last I seen was a new one and didn't have a bloody clue. To be fair I have done massive amounts of research but asoon as u go in armed with knowledge they turn off and stop listening to you 😔 xx
