Thyroid Antibodies are present in some people's blood which indicate that their thyroid gland is under attack. The antibodies wax and wane and attack the thyroid gland until the patient is hypothyroid.
Going gluten-free can help reduce the attacks.
If you haven't been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, you need a new blood test and ask for TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3. B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate.
All blood tests have to be at the very earliest (TSH drops throughout the day) fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose of levo and the test and take afterwards.
TSH 5.9 (0.2 - 4.2)
FT4 14.6 (12 - 22)
FT3 3.2 (3.1 - 6.8)
Diagnosed 2011 with under active
Ferritin 3 (30 - 400)
Folate 1.6 (4.6 - 18.7)
Vitamin B12 101 (180 - 900)
Vitamin D total 22.6
Your doctor is a disgrace. I am going to link you into one of our members' past post SeasideSusie and you will find lots of helpful ways to increase.
First of all before you do anything at all about B12, you must first get your doctor to test the Intrinsic Factor for B12 which will confirm or not that you have another Autoimmune Condition - called Pernicious Anaemia which another very serious condition if untreated.
Also I'd advise you to post your result for B12 in the Pernicious Anaemia Society within Healthunlocked.
