Spotting and eltroxin

Am on 3rd week of taking eltroxin for hypothyroid , does it cause spotting (after 10 days of my period is over ) between periods ? Am really worried.. even unusual much heavier periods cramps I had some weeks back during my period ! Pls help !

Hypothyroidism can cause heavy and irregular periods and may disrupt cycle. Eltroxin should improve your metabolism and then your menstrual cycle will probably normalise.

Ask your GP to check ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate which are commonly low or deficient in hypothyroid patients. Low iron/ferritin in particular can cause heavy periods.
