Getting worse!

Hi all,

Looking for some advise I'm at my wits end with it all now and wish I never started levothyroxine, every time I go up 25mg my symptoms are worse, I'm on 75mg and now aftet being on it for 4 weeks I can't sleep I'm having palpitations that feel it's behind my throat and not sure if this is a symptom but I keep falling over I have quite bad knees with cuts and bruises but it's like I'm falling over thin air! I can't remember my results but when I last posted you said I was under medicated. My thoughts are am I over medicated and maybe I need vitamin B12 I'm just so tired with it all I need to be well because have a sick husband to look after. Thanks for reading and any help will be much appreciated.

Have you had vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested? If not ask GP to do so

If these are too low, which is extremely common, then you can't use thyroid hormones and feel hypo and hyper at same time

Low vitamin D is linked to insomnia, palpitations can be low magnesium

Balance issues can be low B12

Do you have high thyroid antibodies? This is Hashimoto's also called autoimmune thyroid disease

I think you need your B12 tested as a matter of urgency. Do not start supplementing B12 without getting tested first, as you will skew the results.
