How to deal with cortisol out of kilter

I am endeavouring to help some folk on the Mental Health Support section of HU. A fair number of them are saying their sleep pattern is all over the place, ie not able to go to sleep until 4am. I'm presuming they don't have Hypo/Hashi's although I do recommend they ask their GP for as many blood tests as possible. How is one meant to get cortisol at the correct levels through the day and night?

My pharmacist says that some Hashimotos peeps may have trouble sleeping if they take their evening dose after 6 ( eg later ) ??

I rarely have trouble sleeping !

Thanks Avidreader. I'm talking here about people who haven't been diagnosed with hypothyroid. Although they obviously may have an endocrine problem. How is one meant to get cortisol levels sorted?

Short synacthen test I think, also had mine tested privately along with DHEA. NHS Endoknob ordered the SST and the low cortisol was never mentioned.

My doctor recommended Cortisolv to balance my high cortisol. It's an herbal formula & gentle. I'm in the US & don't know if it's available in the UK.

Hi G2G2, could you PM me please with where you get Cortisov, who makes it and what it contains please? I'm in the UK and can't find a product like it. So appreciate your post as my sleep is all over the place!

Just to add that in my opinion cortisol should be tested before taking NAX etc., this type of product does not suit everyone as I've found out.
