Ah, bless him, he's beautiful and he looks so happy :)

So sorry he has hypothyroidism and I hope you get some replies from other mums in the same position. Learn all you can to help him, do lots of research and make sure he is treated correctly.

Welcome to the forum, Babyj2410.

We don't get many hypothyroid infant posts but yours is the second this afternoon. Isabellaj has an 8 week old baby girl healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

You and Isabellaj may want to support each other.

There are posts on hypothyroid children (not restricted to congenital hypothyroidism in infants) in healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Hi babyj, can you find out if there are antibodies of any sort toward the thyroid? Do you have the condition. Or have they given you a reason for the condition? I don't know about infants with hypo but we are learning about natural methods as in diet and supplements that may be very helpful. I've just learned that babies are born without a microbiome. You could look that up and understand what it means.

hi , ill fond out on our next blood tests in 2 weeks. Its inherited his nana and aunty both suffer with the same thing. His brain is sending down the signals but the thyroid isn't responding as it should. As its so new to me I don't know massively about the condition. But what I do know is that if he doesn't have his medication while being a baby then it could cause learning difficulties and other things. I hate tablets my self and wont even take antibiotics . If there was any other way then ide 100% do it knowing that my son will have the best quality of life x
