If that was done at 9.30am then it is on the lower side of normal. Cortisol should be at the highest level of the day at that time, so around 400-600, so yours is quite low. Are you under an Endocrinologist? I would hope that they would test you further to see if you have Addison's.
Hi PaulineS thanks for your reply. I read quite a bit about cortisol before I posted but still couldn't work out whether my level was ok. On my test result it says normal no further action but I have other issues going on and I think they're all related.
I've been borderline low on a lot of things for the last 12 years with all sorts of symptoms till my life's at a standstill. Now tests are coming back under ranges.
I pressed my GP recently that I think I need to be at the optimal for most things.
I'm 4 weeks in to Levothyroxine 25mg per day for 8 week then re-test, so seeing how I do.
It was previously suggested here I may have central hypothyroidism / pituitary problems with the results I posted, but I won't bring that up with GP till next appointment.
I've asked to be referred to a metabolic bone doctor, which made my GP's eyes light up with consternation!! I've got Osteoporosis and that was advice from the Osteoporosis Society, which she duly noted and will look in to.
I saw an endocrinologist early last year but they were not at all interested and offered me anti-depressants!! Not the first health person to do that!
Feel I'm progressing with things now and have to say without this wonderful site I would be well and truly lost.
