I had a goitre 20years ago -they removed 50% saying they were certain that'd be the end of it.
15 years ago the remaining 50% developed a goitre.....which became multi nodular about 10 years ago.
Benign, normal tsh, t4 etc.....
2 years ago it became slightly overactive with tsh switched off.
So I've been on Cabrimazole which sent me underactive, they decreased dose and I' e just started to lose the brain fog bit still an emotional wreck when someone causes me stress, I'm fine when there is no stress.
So my questions based on the options the specialist has given me:_
1. Where can I find information on RAI/ surgery for RING patients who are on their second round of treatments? (I've been told there are added complications but can't find anything)
2.Plummer's
3.can you choose where you have procedures? I'm really not confident on general surgeon carrying out the procedure which is the option in rural areas.
4.I was told max 2 years on tablets; is that true?
Thanks so.much xx

1. I don't know what RING patients are but if you Google or type into the Search Thyroid UK box "RAI", "Radioactive iodine" and "Thyroidectomy" you'll find posts and information. If you have thyroid eye disease RAI can make it worse so you might want to opt for completion thyroidectomy.
Try for a good and experienced thyroid surgeon, it's very important that they have plenty of TT surgery under their belt. One in their 50's or 60's you can look them up on goggle and then request them from your GP.
