Hi there i am looking into different liquid supplements or tablets for very low ferritin levels , i have been taking solgars gentle iron for 2 months with no problems but a very low dose but doctor has said i now need a stronger supplement, i also eat lambs liver once a week and also spinach every day, brazil nuts etc. Doc has prescribed tablets but i know they are going to put my stomach in agony.
Read about blue iron and wondered if anyone has tried this or any other recommendations would be great that are gentle on the stomach. 😊😊

16.7mg per recommended dose, less than Gentle Iron.
Have a look at Blood Builder amazon.co.uk/MegaFood-Daily... - 26mg iron per recommended serving, iron from food. I bought some to experiment but my ferritin is now 119 but other iron panel results not as good as they should be so I'm not taking them or even eating liver at the moment.
How much liver are you eating? That really is one of the best ways to increase ferritin level. You can have up to 200g a week.
By the way, with your Brazil nuts, does the packet say they're grown in selenium rich soil? If not you're wasting your time if you're eating them for their selenium content. See the table here honey-guide.com/2012/11/19/... , they need to be grown in Eastern Amazon or Central Brazil for best amount of selenium.
So its less than solgars then-so i will scrap that idea. Usually eat liver once a week and i would say its a good handful of it or more. Brazil nuts just from sainsburys didnt know about being grown in brazil etc so i will change that. I will have a look at link thankyou. I dread taking the docs tablets as they will be cheap and full of rubbish probably.
