I'm due a thyroid function test on Monday and even though I have had many, is there something I should be doing to prepare for this? Only medically proven and not personal ideas, please.

Blood Test
What is it you're looking for in your results? Do you want an increase in dose? Are you fine with your current dose? If you want an increase then you need the highest possible TSH.
Here is a previous post by Helvella which shows the results of a study showing the daily rhythms of TSH and thyroid hormones so it can help you decide what time to have your blood drawn depending on what you want the results to show healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...
Also, I remember one member whose endo suggested the same advice you often see here on the forum, ie early blood draw, fast overnight, leave off Levo. An opinion maybe, but an endo's opinion. Unfortunately I can't remember which member it was so can't link to the post.
I'm not asking for this test. It's just the yearly blood test done by my GP for my hypothyroidism. I'm not really asking about results here but if there is anything I can do beforehand to get a true result.
Well, I would go with what the other member's endo says. I do that anyway, every time, so that tests are always done under the same conditions and therefore compare accurately.
I'm not sure there is such a thing as a 'true result'. How do you get that? Both hormones and TSH fluctuate throughout the day, so are never going to be the same.
