Still seeking better QOL

Diagnoised with Graves’ disease almost 5 yrs ago had RAI went on levothyroxine . Because my get up and go has gone I have been exploring the net for self help ways to improve my health .

Main problems are overwhelming fatigue, ache all over feel like 90 yr old instead 60 yr old , have lots hot flushes , palpitations are getting worse despite being on beta blockers have put two stone in weight on . All my blood results are fine .

Have a very nice GP but he does not appear to know much about Graves’ disease . He asked for more information when I asked if there were any othe medication that may help. I posted information from the lancet Anita how some do not get on with Levo and waiting to hear back . Reluctant to make an app as do not have much faith.

Have been looking to go private but have yet to find a good dr in the south west England . Hoping to have the Have a test to rule out a genetic reason .

Feel like just ordering T3 but concerned about safety .

Is there anyone who knows where you can order T 3 as I feel at least it would be worth a try . I am aware it is not just a matter of popping a pill that thaw right strength is important to get the balance .

Must add was on 100mcgs Levo cut it down to 75mgs to see if it improves my symptoms .

I am semi retired love my work two days a week but find I need to rest on my days off .

Feel there must be a way I can improve my symptoms . Must add all my bloods are normal they refused to check T 3 .

Would appreciate any wise words or contacts .

Kind regards Annie

Who said your results are fine? Your doctor? What would he know! And, when he says 'normal', all he means is 'in-range', which is not the same as 'optimal'. Do you have the actual numbers? Is so, post them here, with the ranges, and let's have a look. We don't believe in 'normal' and 'fine'.

Hi grey goose

Found them all normal the only one to do with thyroid is TSH 1.07mU/L this appears to be in the ref range . What do you think ?

Thanks Annieb

It's good. But meaningless. Once you're on thyroid hormone replacement, the TSH is irrelevant. You need at least the FT4, better still, the FT3.

Not what you're looking for?
