Hi again, looking for advice. Because I broke my ankle in February 2017, I was called for a none density scan. I got this a month ago. I phoned the doctors a few times to get the results. When I phoned again yesterday, I was told the doctor wants to see me. I have an appointment on Monday as " it is just routine and not urgent"! I have, of course, looked for information regarding this scan as I am concerned that I need to see a doctor. ( the receptionist would not read out any numbers to me as she is not "clinically trained").
When I found out that thyroid medicine can affect bones, I started taking vit D and calcium.
Should doctors not give folk who take thyroid meds, vit D etc to help prevent any problems. Or am I just being angry, at them, again?
Any advice will be much appreciated.
Thank you 😘

Similiar situation for me. Fractured my tibia and sent me for bone density scan. Mine was fine and I will be called back every 5 years. I have autoimmune thyroid disease and Lupus. I have been taking 5000ui a day plus calcium last two years prescribed by my endocrinologist. Seems such a common problem!
Good luck with the results and fingers crossed all is well.
Make sure you are taking magnesium as well - that's usually more important to supplment for bone health than calcium (which most of us get plenty of), might also need boron. Don't forget to take vitamin K2 (MK-7) to ensure that all that extra calcium ends up in your bones and teeth, not your arteries
