Chronic inflammation and brain shrinkage
Thanks for posting.
I have also posted a couple of links re the importance of B12 and homocysteine levels. I doubt doctors check homocysteine along with B12. So I will also put the links below for those who haven't read or are aware of the dangers of high homocysteine levels causing brain shrinkage but that B12 supplementation can help reduce it. That's why it is so important to have good B12 levels and so many doctors appear to think that bottom of range is fine when the aim is 1,000 not lower.

Most Dr's in US don't bother to run labs with homocysteine levels . They claim it's not important . I wonder if they test it for themselves and their loved ones ? Most insurance Co. won't cover it any longer .
I had never heard of homocysteine until I listened to the above and as I have P.A. I got a private test.

Your very smart that you don't let yourself . Good for you . However when Dr's and that is most of them don't believe in it . It won't get tested . I asked once a Naturopath Dr to run labs for me on homocysteine levels . She told me not to second guess her . I never went back again .
shaws ,
In US the Dr has to order it . Even when you go to a private Dr which I do they won't do it for some reason . I don't understand the reason . Maybe some out there knows . Meanwhile I supplement with nutrients just to make sure I'm covered .
If you don't press the 'Reply' button the person isn't notified. I've only read your above response today. If you want to 'add' others into your post or want a person notified you have to add an @ plus their name. As you type of few characters a list will appear below and you chose the one you want. I don't know why they don't test homocystein either - even if rarely - because as it increases as it can lead to dementia which seems to be rising worldwide. B12 methylcobalamin sublingual can keep homocysteine low, so could it be worth supplementing with that as we are now advised a B12 of 1,000 is to be aimed for. We read lots of posts with results of B12 around 100's but doctor hasn't made a point of stating (or are completely unaware) of the optimum for us. As long as any results are within range they're happy even if it as the bottom..
