I am having difficulty getting gp to arrange bloods so I am going to do private finger prick to see if I am on the right dosage of levothyroxine so I need suggestions for how this test can be carried out have txt before but fed up with situation gp s seem to think that those of us over a certain age needs to reduce dosage rather than increase it if necessary for me I have been on thyroxine for over 30yyrs but still get talked down to whenever I visited surgery

You can order the test kit from Medichecks for £39.

Thirty years on levo and still complaining so there's something definitely not right with your dose.
You need TSH, T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies. If your GP wont test B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate you can get these included too.
We have two recommended labs Blue Horizon and Medichecks (usually do a Thursday offer).

The blood draw should be at the earliest, fasting and allow a gap of 24 hours between last dose and test and take afterwards.
Also make sure you are well-hydrated a couple of days before.
