D3 B12 Ferritin Folate - all need to be optimal before your thyroid will work properly. You may not be hyperthyroid but have Hashimoto's. I have an enormous distaste for the haste with which your medic thought RAI and going hypo on presentation of your symptoms.
Do not pass go until you have seen an endocrinologist who specialises in Thyroid disorders, not diabetes.
I will wait until I have all my answers and have no intention of allowing an RAI. I am in South Georgia and the level of Healthcare here is horrible. I am now looking elsewhere for a specialist. My GP failed to send my referral, it has been a month since my hospital stay, now I am again at step one, this specialist also does diabeties, should I keep LOOKING? She is way backed up.
Yes, I quit July 23, and yes this began shortly after that. I do believe it was triggered or uncovered by my quitting. I think I have always had thyroid issues, due to certain hormonal imbalances and a long history of fainting since childhood. Just not sure what to do about it, not getting any favorable answers here from GP, they just want to kill the thyroid, they disagree that quitting caused it. Looks like I will have to wait until April to see the specialist so when I do I will make sure they do all the needed tests. Long wait for answers and the medicine I have now helps but not much better. Thanks for responding.
